Day Off

I've said it before, I'll say it again: considered logically, there's really no good reason to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, anymore than we should celebrate every sunrise and sunset. It's custom and practice, an excuse to give and receive, just a personal benchmark on the waves of time. Birthdays give us an excuse to eat cake, have a celebratory drink, or do something completely different.....so no blogging for me on my birthday today. I'll be a day older when I return, not a year older - that's my story.

Well, happy solar return to you, Twilight! Nothing too pesky aspect-wise today, except the ubiquitous Uranus-Pluto that we all endure, so you're in the clear in that respect. I acknowledge solar returns as carrying some weight, as mine have correlated fairly well toward outlining the generalities of any given solar year. I put far more emphasis on transits though.

I hope that anyjazz is wiser this year. Did he internet-order jewelry for you again?...LOL. It's the thought that counts. Wishing you the best...don't party too much.

“Try to imagine a life without timekeeping. You probably can’t. You know the month, the year, the day of the week. There is a clock on your wall or the dashboard of your car. You have a schedule, a calendar, a time for dinner or a movie. Yet all around you, timekeeping is ignored. Birds are not late. A dog does not check its watch. Deer do not fret over passing birthdays. Man alone measures time. Man alone chimes the hour. And, because of this, man alone suffers a paralyzing fear that no other creature endures. A fear of time running out.” Mitch Albom, The Time Keeper

Sonny ~ Thank you - yep - keep me at a steady temperature, dust me down occasionally and, like a bottle of old wine I'll behave rather well. ;-)

mike ~ Thank you! And thanks for looking at the solar return thingie - I've never bothered with that aspect of the b'day much, but pleased to know that this year no major hiccups seem apparent...apart from that irritable square.

Anyjazz did a similar thing at Christmas (again) with a much better result this time (Etsy's usually reliable) - even if the gift did arrive a few days late. Today's gift is ...pending. :-)

Off out for lunch - probably to Cracker Barrel in Lawton for my favourite "Haddock Dinner".

We'd considered going to the flicks in Lawton too, to a late morning showing - "The Imitation Game", but thought better of it and decided we'll wait for the film to arrive on Netflix.

Oh, go on, enjoy it. Pamper yourself. Let AnyJazz do the washing up for a change. Sorry I missed the day, but a very belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY from me to you.

RJ Adams ~ Thank you RJ - we had a very pleasant day on Tuesday - perfect weather for January (or for July English-style in fact!) Things have taken a downturn temperature-wise since then though. :-)
