Arty Farty Friday ~ Luiz Gasparetto's Amazing Ability

Just before Christmas occasional commenter "JD" passed on to me links to information about Luiz Gasparetto. I'd not heard or read about his amazing abilities.

Brazilian member of a famous family of psychics. Their mom, Zibia, channels discarnate entities, Luiz channels famous painters and his brother Irineau channels classical musicians. Luiz continued his education to also become a psychologist.

Born on 16 August 1949 in São Paulo, Brazil, at 6.55 AM ("A" rating = reliable)

The Grand trine linking Venus (planet of the arts)in Virgo to Taurus Moon (Taurus is ruled by Venus), and Jupiter in Capricorn, jumps out first from his natal chart. The Grand Trine is in Earth signs, so doesn't immediately lead one to suspect indications of psychic or mediumship abilities. So, what would indicate those types of skills in a chart? I'd expect, at least, prominent Water. Uranus and Mars are in Cancer, but Mars squares Neptune (I'd have expected some softer links to Neptune, but see nothing that helps.)

His Leo Sun and ascendant helped him into the public spotlight for a time; Sun semi-sextiles Venus in Virgo, which could mean that he wasn't always comfortable in the spotlight - maybe.

I don't see anything that immediately fits the amazing ability to channel great artists this guy appears to have - do you?

Mystical Monday ~ Jeanne Dixon, 20th Century Psychic.

Jeanne Dixon was born this day, January 5, in 1904. She became one of America's best-known psychics during the twentieth century. She foresaw the assassination of John F. Kennedy. She had written that a Democrat would be elected US president in 1960 but would die in office, possibly by assassination. Before this she had made several successful predictions concerning "celebs" of her day, Russia's launch of Sputnik, plane crash of UN Secretary General Dag Hammerskjöld.

" She also predicted that Robert Kennedy would fail in his presidential bid because of a tragedy that would occur in the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, where he was later assassinated. One of her most dramatic prophecies was a 1962 vision of a messianic child who would "unite all warring creeds and sects into one all-embracing faith."

She reached millions through her syndicated newspaper astrology column and a best-selling biography by Ruth Montgomery. She also wrote eight books and appeared in the 1976 TV documentary The Amazing World of Psychic Phenomena.

A devout Roman Catholic, Dixon attributed her prophetic ability to God. She also had numerous critics, who pointed out that many of her most dramatic predictions never came to pass.

Jeane Dixon was born Lydia Emma Pinckert in Medford, Wisconsin and raised in Missouri and California. A Roman Catholic, she was married to James Dixon from 1939 until his death. They had no children."

Jeanne Dixon died in January 1997.

Her prediction of the birth of a "messianic child", in February 1962, when a large assembly of planets lay in Aquarius, might have been a wild guess, taking the astrological phenomenon into consideration (and that's my own wild guess!). We haven't yet seen evidence that her prediction was correct,

Where was Dixon's psychic ability reflected in her natal chart? She had Sun in Capricorn with three personal planets in Aquarius. Capricorn and Aquarius aren't usually thought to be linked to psychic ability - sometimes Aquarius/Uranus are linked to astrology, and Jeanne Dixon was also an astrologer. The Water sign Pisces and its ruler Neptune, or Cancer, or Scorpio are thought to be part of the more usual psychic tool bag. She had Jupiter in Pisces and Neptune in Cancer, nice placements for a psychic, but the planets were too widely spaced to be in textbook trine aspect.

Dixon's generational Pluto in Gemini in her first house (Pluto well aspected by personal planets = potential for psychic ability) was in trine to Mars in Aquarius, but also square to Jupiter in Pisces and opposing Uranus in Sagittarius.

A bit of a mystery!

How about that Yod (Finger of Fate), shown in the small chart: it links Mercury/Saturn to Venus by sextile, and the sextiled planets to Neptune (favourite planet for psychic ability) via two 150 degree aspects. Such aspects are known as quincunx or inconjunct and individually are thought to be generally unhelpful or "irritable" aspects between planets. Most astrologers aren't very keen on the Yod formation as being helpful either. However, I've noticed many times that when a Yod appears in a natal chart it does seem to indicate a kind of "funnelling" through the Yod's apex planet, and reflects through this the talent or "gift" of the chart's native. It works very well in this case, as a funnel for Mercury (communication) and Venus (planet of the arts) through Neptune's mists, dreams and visions.

"The Mentalist" & Simon Baker

We missed the pilot episode of this new TV series starring Simon Baker as Patrick Jane, a former stage psychic (but "a fake"), turned CBI investigation assistant who says he considers "there's no such thing as a psychic". He does his "magic" though intense powers of observation and perhaps a dash of intuition....we are led to believe.

After enjoying a subsequent episode, I skipped through a number of reviews of the pilot to discover Patrick Jane's back-story. It appears that his wife and small daughter were murdered as a result of a remark Jane had made on stage, some years ago, about a serial killer in the locality. After this tragedy the former fake psychic turned away from stage performance and secured a job assisting the CBI to investigate crimes.

A number of the reviews I read on-line were written by avowed skeptics. They are gleefully gloating about what they see as a TV series adopting a skeptical approach to the subject of psychics. I don't think they need be feeling quite so gleeful. I saw Patrick Jane possessing what are commonly called psychic skills, in spite of his protestations. He had used them on-stage. Because of the tragic outcome of a passing remark he now denies them, and denies that psychic ability exists at all. Yet he still uses the same talents in his new occupation. Maybe the script is cleverly constructed so that each viewer, skeptic, believer, or a mix of both (like me) can interpret the story as he/she wishes. I suspect that Jane does have psychic skills. In later episodes it wouldn't surprise me a bit if evidence emerges that there is more to it than observation and intuition - both of which, in my opinion, play an important part in what is called psychic ability anyway.

About Simon Baker: he is a very attractive guy who originated as an actor in Australian TV soap operas. He has since appeared in both movies and TV series in the USA since emigrating here in 1995. He was born on 30 July 1969 in Launceton, Tasmania. No birth time available - 12 noon chart below:



I've taken quotes from two interviews with Simon Baker (linked at foot of post), and added notes in red of what I see as astrological connections. Factors relevant here: Sun and Mercury in the show-biz sign, Leo. Moon somewhere in Aquarius (degree not certain without time of birth). Uranus conjunct Jupiter, Saturn in Taurus square Sun. Venus in Gemini quincunx Neptune in Scorpio.

"I'm not an actor because I have a need to see my name up in lights or because I want to be a multi-millionaire. (Sun in Leo square Saturn in Taurus). I do it because I've got something in me that has to come out (Mercury in Leo)....... Baker also concedes that he has to make some acting choices based on survival. "I have to balance art and commerce. I am an artist, that's who I am, and everything I do, whether it's a shit movie or whatever it is, I still try to do the best I can and express whatever. But at the same time, I have a wife and three kids and I have to support them. I'm not in a position where I can dance around all over the globe." (Venus = his artistic temperament is in irritable aspect to Neptune planet of creativity and dreams - he is not always free to do what his creative side might wish. And, here again, Saturn in Taurus grounding him to practicality, the need to support his family.

"If you look at my career, I’m not exactly good at the business of: okay, now I should do this or now I shouldn’t do that. I think that’s because I’m a little too erratic, and, depending on certain moods and how I feel at certain times, certain things appeal to me in a different way." (Moon in erratic Aquarius, and Uranus conjunct Jupiter) ...... while Baker could have taken advantage of the success of L.A. Confidential, he chose not to be lured by the prospects of fame and celebrity. "I certainly don’t crave what you have to give up for that." He says he is content to be where he is, in Hollywood’s scheme of things. "I kind of fly under the radar pretty well, and I appreciate that." Asked if it is that sense of reality that keeps him grounded, (Saturn in Taurus again) Baker says, "I don’t know, mate, I don’t analyse that so much, I possibly think so."

It’s a way to be able to speak to them and have people speak to themselves, try to question themselves and try to understand stuff. Hopes fade.....but...

As chances of Senator Hillary Clinton being the Democratic nominee fade, I feel part disappointed and part optimistic. "The math" is still against her, in spite of her huge win yesterday in Puerto Rico. The Democratic National Committee's ruling on Saturday helped somewhat, while at the same time angering her supporters by what they see as
deliberate preferential treatment towards Barack Obama in the allocation of Michigan's delegates. It does seem that whatever she does now, by however wide a margin she beats Obama, nothing makes much difference. Some say "the fix is in".

Several respected astrologers retain a view that Hillary Clinton will be US president. Perhaps though, depending on how their forecasts were calculated, the predictions could relate to a result of some other, future, election - 2012, for instance.

I've investigated some links to predictions from sources other than astrology. Two psychics have been brave enough, in public, to stand by their vision of a President Hillary Clinton:

#1 Michelle Whitedove, who was the winner of "Psychic Challenge" a fascinating TV programme from last year, has had quite a bit to say, at different stages of this primary race, all listed at this link. In spite of the way things seem to be shaping up she sticks to her original prediction.

#2 The Street Psychic hasn't reversed his prediction of Hillary Clinton as president either.

I'm featuring these now, not because I have any greater confidence in them than in astrology, but more as a matter of interest, comparison and for future reference, should they prove to have been accurate predictions.

I tried my own hand with another question to my tarot deck last night. I still feel a bit gobsmacked about what happened last time. There was a result in my life which matched the cards I drew, but it wasn't related to the question I'd asked which was about Hillary Clinton and the elections.

In the spirit of research last night I asked, "What do I need to know about Hillary Clinton?" (A rather over-broad question, now I come to think of it).

The Emperor

Those are three positive cards, the second and third from the Major Arcana.

4 of Wands is a lovely card to find in any spread, it represents harmony, refinement, happiness, peacefulness - that kind of feeling.

The World - I've drawn this card before in relation to Senator Clinton. It signfies, among other things, a completion, which is appropriate now because after tomorrow the primary elections will be completed. To me it says there will be a good, positive conclusion to her strivings.

The Emperor - another from the Major Arcana. Before we jump to any conclusion about gender, I'll add that The Empress card has a very different meaning, so although The Emperor illustration is masculine, as I see it, this card could apply to either male or female, depending on context. It relates to an authority figure - comparable to Saturn in astrology. Because such figures in the past were almost always male, the card has masculinity as one of its keywords. Tarot Teachings interprets the card as follows:

"The father figure of the Tarot deck, the Emperor Tarot card meanings are all about advice, widsom, authority, and grounding. Take a moment to observe the Emperor card. It becomes apparent that this is a character who has been there, done that, and has the battle armor to prove it. The Emperor has obtained his wisdom through experience. He's been through the wars, he's ruled his people wisely, and he's experienced all life can throw at him. What better source for advice than a battle-tested, thoughtful, strategic ruler? "

Remind you of anybody?

There are always several ways to interpret a tarot spread, and this is where the reader's own intuition comes in - my own feeling, as I first saw the cards, was very positive. My initial thought was not - "The Emperor must be Barack Obama", I thought that the three positive cards together can only equal success. There is no disappointment or negativity implied by the cards.

As I tell myself, all the time, "it ain't over 'til it's over". And whatever happens next, Senator Hillary Clinton is not going to walk away, head bowed, disappointed.

Neptune on TV

There's a distinctly Neptunian flavour to TV, in the USA, this fall. Neptune in Aquarius is working well.

Among the shows on offer are Lisa Williams: Life Among the Dead and Psychic Challenge. Also, coming up this week Phenomenon with Uri Geller.

We've watched Lisa Williams' show a few times, and two episodes of "Psychic Challenge". We'll no doubt sample "Phenomenon" this week.

This type of show is always interesting, but usually there's a little cynicism to contend with, Chez Twilight. Lisa Williams, on the face of it, is amazing, but HeWhoKnows wonders aloud whether she and/or a team of researchers could easily find out all or most of the information she manages to come up with for her clients.

"Psychic Challenge" is fascinating and enjoyable. I suppose it could be open to manipulation, but somehow I doubt it - hard editing maybe, but no more.

Last week, in a kind of cross-over, Lisa Williams took part in an experiment on "Psychic Challenge". She, seated behind a wall, was the celebrity whose identity the 4 psychic contestants were challenged to guess. They were told only that the person behind the wall was "a celebrity". One of the contestants expressed a feeling that there may be a link with astrology, but later Lisa Williams said that she is not interested in astrology - "not into it". No reason why she should be, but I found it rather surprising that she was so definite about it, with apparently no curiosity about the subject at all.

I try to remain open-minded about the whole psychic scene. I much prefer the type of experiments carried out in "Psychic Challenge" to the "communicating with the dead" department. Whether a medium is actually communicating with loved ones who have died is, for me, a moot point - the medium could be just as easily reading the client's own mind/heart, without even realising it - that's something I find much easier to accept.

We're looking forward to "Phenomenon" this week, it'll complete a Neptunian hat-trick.

There's no doubt in my mind that "something is going on" in psychic phenomena - something over and above the norm. As in astrology, nobody can know for certain what that "something" is. It is though, for sure, typically Neptunian!
