Arty Farty Friday ~ Aelita Andre - Prodigy

Aelita Andre (born 9 January 2007) is an Australian abstract artist known for her Surrealist painting style and her young age. She began to paint when aged nine months, and her work was displayed publicly in a group exhibition shortly after she turned two. Her first solo exhibition opened in New York City in June 2011, when she was four years old.

Born on 9 January 2007 in Melbourne, Australia - chart set for 12 noon, no time of birth known.

With Venus (planet of the arts) and Neptune(imagination) both in Aquarius, ruled by Uranus planet of the unexpected, why am I not surprised about this young person's early creativity? Venus is also in helpful sextile to Jupiter(extremes and excess)at home in its sign of rulership, Sagittarius.

Uranus and Neptune were in mutual reception for all those in Aelita's age group. That means Uranus lay in rulership of Neptune and Neptune in rulership of Uranus. As the two planets figure prominently in her chart the mutual reception is worth emphasis. Planets in mutual reception tend to work together, melding each other's astrological characteristics - this can be seen in young Aelita's surprising artworks.

Wednesday Wonder Child ~ Jackie Evancho

TV show America's Got Talent has thrown up an example of a child prodigy : 10-year old Jackie Evancho. She won her way through to compete in the final ten from a round, new this season, of YouTube performers. I suspect that after last night's performance she will retain her place among the front-runners, to be one of the final four - perhaps even to win the competition next week, or at least to finish as runner-up.

Jackie's natal chart (set for 12 noon) is shown below with some brief interpretation relating to her talent. For a passing reader who has not yet heard her voice ~ listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKhmFSV-XB0

Sun and Venus in ambitious, competitive Aries are clearly reflected in her performances and her poise when interviewed. Uranus (the unexpected) lay in helpful sextile to Sun as she was born - connecting to some form of unexpectedness. In her case it may represent such a mature voice coming from a wee angelic-looking child. Some people describe this as "weird", a mature voice coming from such youth. Operatic pieces especially give this impression. Last night she sang Pie Jesu - her voice and delivery every bit as exceptional as Sarah Brightman's.

The stellium (cluster of planets) in Taurus (ruled by Venus, planet connected to music) is key, I think. Especially Saturn here with Jupiter. Saturn relates to maturity, Jupiter to exaggeration - an indication of something exaggeratedly mature?

Though Jackie could be considered to be a "wonder child", I don't see her as a typical Las Vegas performer -especially at her tender age. To find a new Las Vegas act is what the show is supposedly out to find.

My own favourite performer this season has been "Prince Poppycock" (John Quale), whose birth date is nowhere to be found on-line, other than that he's 32. Now he is definitely a Las Vegas act, and a class act at that! A sample of one of The Prince's performances is linked. You just have to love him - and smile.~~~

PRODIGY ~ Tallan Noble Latz

I'm not sure I believe in reincarnation, but when I see someone like 9-year old Tallan Noble Latz, hear his guitar playing - I do have to wonder!

This young lad appeared in American's Got Talent this week. YouTube video clip of his performance. There are also other videos at YouTube showing Tallan playing in a variety of venues.

Apparently he is already quite well known in some circles - a prodigy, nicknamed "The T-Man". There's already a Wikipedia page for him. His date of birth is included there, it was a pleasant surprise to find that!

Here's Tallan's natal chart, set for 12 noon (in the absence of a birthtime) on 22 September 1999, and for Elkhorn, Wisconsin. I'm not absolutely sure that this was his place of birth, but the chart will at least give planet placements. Moon would be in Aquarius unless he was born after 11pm, when it moved into Pisces.

My eye was drawn first to Uranus, conjunct South Node of the Moon in Aquarius. The Moon itself was more than likely in Aquarius too. Uranus is modern ruler of Aquarius, and lying so close to the Moon's South Node gives it extra significance. The Moon's nodes are particularly sensitive points in a natal chart, so when when a planet lies close to one of them it's worth noting. In Tallan's case, he has Uranus highlighted first because it is in its own sign, then because it's on an ultra-sensitive point, then because the Moon itself is almost certainly in the same sign of Aquarius. Uranus and Aquarius relate to innovation, high levels of intelligence, maybe on occasion, even to genius.

Sun in Virgo gives Tallan an urge for perfection; it's in the last degree, said to be one of the strongest. Tallan must have worked very hard and consistently to achieve the level of skill he displays. Virgo Sun can be a hard taskmaster, I guess.

As for reincarnation - I don't know, it's a fanciful idea. I think, on balance, I prefer to rely on Tallan's stellar Uranus placement to account for his prodigious talent, and potential.

Child prodigies are nothing new, and not exceptionally rare. At Wikipedia there are long lists of examples of known child prodigies, covering many skills and talents. Whenever a new one appears on the scene though, it never fails to amaze.
