And a happy birthday to Egypt, too...hard to say how that newborn will mature! I have my concerns.

Are you and anyjazz celebrating by watching the eponymous movie or maybe "Independence Day-saster"?

mike ~ Yes, Happy birthday, Egypt!
That pot boiled right over didn't it? We can only wish and hope that the future will unfold in the way the Egyptian people are hoping.

Nothing planned, I-Day-wise we'll avoid all disaster movies tonight though! ;-)
I have a DVD in the pending pile we've found in junk stores on our travels -
In Search of America starring Jeff Bridges. From the blurb on the cover it sounds just the job for 4 July

Hmmm it says there it was made for TV (possibly as a pilot for a series). It'll be fine, with a glass of something or other!

The video is a good choice for today.

mike ~ Hmmm - that's odd I was certaint I'd responded to your comment, an hour or more ago, but the response has disappeared - Blogger playing silly devils no doubt - or maybe I didn't hit "publish" hard enough!!

Here goes again:

I have an old DVD in our "pending" pile found in junk stores, it's called In Search of America" with Jeff Bridges - seems it was made for TV - possibly a pilot for a series.
It'll go down well with a drink - or two.

Hope your I-day goes well!

anyjazz ~ I thought so too - I like that version of "This Land...." it has all the best verses prominent - some versions leave them out.

mike ~ Blogger had put my original response in the "spam" file - I've reinstated it in it's chronological order, - will leave both versions up as a reminder to myself to check "spam" for my own comments if gone adrift. :-)
