PRODIGY ~ Tallan Noble Latz

I'm not sure I believe in reincarnation, but when I see someone like 9-year old Tallan Noble Latz, hear his guitar playing - I do have to wonder!

This young lad appeared in American's Got Talent this week. YouTube video clip of his performance. There are also other videos at YouTube showing Tallan playing in a variety of venues.

Apparently he is already quite well known in some circles - a prodigy, nicknamed "The T-Man". There's already a Wikipedia page for him. His date of birth is included there, it was a pleasant surprise to find that!

Here's Tallan's natal chart, set for 12 noon (in the absence of a birthtime) on 22 September 1999, and for Elkhorn, Wisconsin. I'm not absolutely sure that this was his place of birth, but the chart will at least give planet placements. Moon would be in Aquarius unless he was born after 11pm, when it moved into Pisces.

My eye was drawn first to Uranus, conjunct South Node of the Moon in Aquarius. The Moon itself was more than likely in Aquarius too. Uranus is modern ruler of Aquarius, and lying so close to the Moon's South Node gives it extra significance. The Moon's nodes are particularly sensitive points in a natal chart, so when when a planet lies close to one of them it's worth noting. In Tallan's case, he has Uranus highlighted first because it is in its own sign, then because it's on an ultra-sensitive point, then because the Moon itself is almost certainly in the same sign of Aquarius. Uranus and Aquarius relate to innovation, high levels of intelligence, maybe on occasion, even to genius.

Sun in Virgo gives Tallan an urge for perfection; it's in the last degree, said to be one of the strongest. Tallan must have worked very hard and consistently to achieve the level of skill he displays. Virgo Sun can be a hard taskmaster, I guess.

As for reincarnation - I don't know, it's a fanciful idea. I think, on balance, I prefer to rely on Tallan's stellar Uranus placement to account for his prodigious talent, and potential.

Child prodigies are nothing new, and not exceptionally rare. At Wikipedia there are long lists of examples of known child prodigies, covering many skills and talents. Whenever a new one appears on the scene though, it never fails to amaze.

pretty cool kid...rock n roll music makes me think of mars and uranus. in this case they are in good aspect to one another and receive support from mercury too. maybe an older brother influenced him?

Wow, that is one self assured young man. I thought he was great. It's good to have an instrumentalist go through rather than all the ubiquitous singers. Wonder if he's also got a voice.

Interesting that his Dad said he was into the Blues. For one so young that is an unusual choice. Same was said of Michael Jackson, that at 10 years old he could sing the blues, even though he hadn't had any intimate personal experiences to draw from. Mind you the reports of his father's bullying and violence may have provided some basis for the emotion you need to put into that sort of music.

Shawn ~~~ Mars and Uranus are a rocking pair of planets for sure!
He says his father has encouraged him, and he quoted several famous guitarists as his inspiration. I don't think a brother was mentioned though.

Wiki says
By the time he was five, a video of Joe Satriani had a major impact on the boy and he declared "That's what I want to do."

Rossa ~~~ In some of the other vieos on touTube he does sing a bit - but I wouldn't say it's anywhere as good as his playing.
Still, he's young and his voice will change. Maybe in the future he'll diversify.

Yes, the blues seems a very odd genre for a child to enjoy. That was partly why my mind initially flew to reincarnation. Then I decided it's too fanciful an idea. :-)

Should read "videos on YouTube"

Fingers not yet caught up with brain!

Don't want to start a competition between gifted adolescents, but there's a 12-year-old guitarist named Matthew Curry who I'd suggest is more gifted than young Tallan, Of course, Matt does have THREE WHOLE YEARS on Tallan!!
Anyway, here's the link to a video of Matthew Curry. He's playing an Albert King song with well known bluesman Tommy Castro and Ronnie Brooks, son of blues legend Lonnie Brooks.
Marvel and enjoy.

TNPOTUS ~~~ Oh my - yes he is good!
One blurb @ Google says he's 13 now by the way, so he is really in a different league from Tallan.
Still very impressive.

Wish I could find his birth date/place but it's nowhere to be found, not even on his MySpace page:

Thanks for bringing him to our notice though - I'll keep an eye out for further news and perhaps a note of his birth data.

Certainly seems to be a lot of talented youngsters getting out there on YouTube and Google videos. Not sure it means that there are more of them, it's more likely that they can get the "exposure" on the internet and get a better profile than before. Which is also why AGT and BGT are also good platforms for the young to perform in front of bigger studio audiences etc.

Slightly off topic, I referred to my uncle the sound engineer in my comment about Billie Holiday and thought you might like to have a look at a drum he's making from empty gas bottles. He's only just launched them on the net and can't keep up with the orders. He's my favourite uncle (only 6 years older, more like a big brother)...not surprising as he got me free tickets to the gigs he did in the UK whenever he was over here. Now living in France and still working as a sound engineer around Europe. So here I am banging the drum for him....lol

Does help when I remember to embed the link, sorry.

I first received the Matt Curry video in February and at that time he was being touted as an "amazing 12-year-old." So, perhaps, his 13th birthday has arrived sometime between then and now.

Gee, guess that info is not really all that helpful, huh?

Rossa ~~~ Oh those Kool Drums are such a good idea - re-cycling, environmentally friendly, and making art all rolled into one. Good, good, good! Thanks for the link.

Yes, the internet, YouTube and AGT and BGT are all enormously useful lift-off platforms for young talent who, in the past, had to work hard to be recognised at all during their whole lifetimes.

TNPOTUS - thanks for the further info - well, it tells us that Matthew was probably born between February and July so he could have Sun in late Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini.

The Video which mentions that he was 13 is from a gig on March 20, uploaded in mid-April, so if the uploader has correct information that narrows it down to Pisces, perhaps cusp of Aries. But if his age was gauged as at time of uploading: Taurus.

Never mind! ;-)

Thanks for the article! I strongly suspect Tallan to be the reincarnation of Stevie Ray Vaughan due in part to these similarities in birth and death: SRV died in the sign of Virgo in Wisconsin near the birth place of Tallan in Elkhorn. The comparison of their birth charts and SRV's death chart also show uncanny connections.

Anonymous ~~~ Hi there.
That's interesting! Many thanks for adding the information.
There are mysteries which we'll never fully solve, and it's things like this which make them so fascinating. :-)

This kid blew me away. As a practicing Buddhist, the idea that he was a blues/rock performer in a past life is not at all fanciful. He really reminds me of Stevie Ray Vaughn, and given that SRV died in the middle of his career appogee it would make sense that he would want to come back to finish what he started. Not to take it away from Tallman though; he is a talent in his own right.

David H Larsen ~~~ Thanks for commenting - and yes -it's a very tempting thought that SRV may still be with us throught Tallan.
