Arty Farty Friday, Saturday & Sundry Painters Born in Mid-November.

Six painters of varying styles were born between 14 and 17 November - but in different centuries and decades. I have already written about all of these, over the years - here are links to my relevant posts, with an example of each of their styles.

No accounting for taste in art I guess, Georgia, Manon and Frida can do no wrong in my book, they dared to be different and shocking and revelatory of women's lives and I could spend days being with them. As a matter of fact, I spent an entire day in Frida's house in Mexico City.

Wisewebwoman ~ The first two I do like too, but Frida Kahlo - no, I simply cannot enjoy looking at her paintings.

Ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous there!

Monet and Georgia O'Keeffe - sublime
Vettriano - ridiculous!

I'm better than Vettriano and so are most of your average Art Club amateurs :)
He copies photographs and adds nothing to them, a pointless exercise.

JD ~ Personally, I like all the artists featured - for different reasons. I don't count Monet and O'Keeffe quite as highly as you did. "Sublime" isn't in my arty farty vocabulary. I enjoy seeing their work, but it does tend to get a tad samey. I enjoy variety. I actually like Jack Vettriano (yep, I'm the one!) Call me a philistine if ya like. :-p
