2010 "Celebs" in the news

We're just now sidling timidly, but with some relief, towards the end of 2010.

Some well-known names spring to mind from each Sun sign, as having "made a mark" on public consciousness this year - for good or ill. I've picked names of "celebrities" with natal Sun in each of the 12 zodiac signs, who've been in the news more than usual at some point during 2010. There are dozens more, and especially more women of course, but these are names that immediately sprang to mind. For the sake of balance I really am sorry so many males sprang first!

ARIES ~ Piers Morgan - is to take over where Larry King left off hosting a nightly TV interview show. Why? I've asked that question myself, more than once. One would think there was nobody in the USA capable of doing this American show - there must be at least 20 possibles who would have jumped at the chance.

TAURUS ~ Didn't notice many Sun Taurus types making a big splash this year. George Clooney and Pierce Brosnan then - I've seen both recently in movies on TV - that's why their names "jumped out". They do seem to have a similar kind of affable easy-going personality - as far as their public persona goes anyway. (Taurus is ruled by Venus - they are both VERY pretty!)

GEMINI ~ (Sir)Paul McCartney was one of 2010's recipients of Kennedy Center Honors, as well as getting himself engaged, again.

CANCER ~ Prince William of the UK ~ got himself engaged to be married.

LEO ~ Patrick Swayze ~ lost his battle with cancer.

VIRGO ~ Charlie Sheen ~ Fell off the wagon.....again (so un-Virgo!)

LIBRA ~ Became ill, now fighting for survival.

SCORPIO ~ Larry King ~ hanging up his suspenders + see under ARIES.

SAGITTARIUS ~ Taylor Swift ~ young country singer who seems to win every award known to man.

CAPRICORN ~ Mel Gibson ~ being Mel Gibson.....again.

AQUARIUS ~ Sarah Palin presenting her TV show "Alaska" and generally poking her nose into right-wing politics at every opportunity (with a view to the 2012 election one wonders?)

AND
Neil Diamond very belatedly inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - Yipeee!
Oprah Winfrey in the news too - another Kennedy Center Honoree this year, and leaving her TV show to actually own her own TV network! I've never seen a single show of hers, so can't comment, but she obviously knows how to do stuff, including make money - and, saving grace, give it away sometimes!

PISCES ~ Rupert Murdoch ~ Media mogul, creator of Faux News, still trying to brainwash the world.

PS ~~~ I can't close without this reminder of another well-deserved Kennedy Center Honoree of 2010 - my favourite country star of all time: Merle Haggard.....back, full circle, to the beginning of the zodiac with another Aries Sun. His song If We Make It Through December is very appropriate for our times, although written decades ago:

If we make it through December
Everything's gonna be alright I know
It's the coldest time of winter
And I shiver when I see falling snow.

If we make it through December
Got plans to be in a warmer town come summer time
Maybe even California
If we make it through December we'll be fine.

Got laid off down at the factory
And their timing's not the greatest in the world
Heaven knows I've been working hard
Wanted Christmas to be right for daddy's girl.

I don't mean to hate December
It's meant to be the happy time of the year
My little girl don't understand
Why daddy can't afford no Christmas here.

If we make it through december
Everything's gonna be all right I know
It's the coldest time of winter
And i shiver when I see the falling snow.

If we make it through December
Got plans to be in a warmer town come summer time
Maybe even California
If we make it through December we'll be fine.

That titanicky T-squarey thing......

How did that titanicky T-squarey thing work out for y'all in 2010 ? (I borrow questionable style from a fellow Aquarius-Sun with whom I have nothing in common except perhaps the love of a nice jacket). "You betcha!" (Wink).

Checking back on my six or seven archived posts on the topic "2010", easily accessed by anyone curious enough to do so by clicking on "2010" in the Label Cloud in the sidebar to the right(first item), I looked for my overall message with regard to the T-square of the past summer. It seems to have been along the lines of: "Don't panic, there might be some iffy moments but all-in-all this ol' world will keep trundling on much as usual."

As so often in the past any extreme and dire predictions turned out to be over-done. Reality is more subtle, or slower to develop, even though carrying within it the same "flavour" of more extreme predictions. So the message I've started taking away from words of most high-profile astrologers is to dilute 'em by half, or three-quarters - or even more than that at times.

Massive oil leaks from a damaged BP rig in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, and other kinds of leaks courtesy of Wikileaks, along with continuing financial crises throughout Europe and the USA were probably the most identifiable correlations with this summer's T-square. Reverberations are on-going.

Certainly 2010 cannot be marked down as "a good year", but neither did it turn out as disastrous as some might have expected. Those who have lost homes and jobs could well argue against that statement though. The titanic T-square did cast a giant shadow over things in general, not least over the reputation of US President Barack Obama, originally thought to be "the best thing for the USA since sliced bread". He isn't, and will not be. He has shown us very clearly whose side he's on - and it ain't the side of the working people and poor of the USA. If the titanic T-square did anything for me - it opened my eyes very wide indeed on that score.

On a more personal level, my husband may have felt fall-out "effects" of the T-square. His personal planets in early Aries and late Pisces were part of the configuration. He underwent minor surgery to have a pacemaker fitted in late summer. All was well, and contuinues to be so. It all came as a big surprise, though; he had had no real symptoms or problems. Uranus formed part of the T-square formation and was close-on husband's natal Sun (Sun=self). Surprise is Uranus' stock-in-trade. Whenever Uranus is around a personal planet - expect the unexpected!

So, what awaits us all in 2011?

Better unwrap the old tarot deck again, ready for Friday.

THOUGHTS ON THE CURRENT CARDINAL CROSS

I was prompted to write on this topic by astrologer Robert Phoenix who included my offering (below) along with his own thoughts and articles by other astrologers in his blog last weekend.

In case a passing non-astro reader feels curious, the planetary configuration in question is a currently slow-forming "cross" within a "square", outlined by 2 sets of 2 planets in opposition, with all 4 in 90 degree square aspect to one another. Such a configuration isn't that uncommon - it's often found in natal charts. In the current case though, the configuration is more notable because it is being formed in the 4 Cardinal signs (Aries/Cancer/Libra/Capricorn) known as dynamic initiators - and by some slow-moving planets known from experience as "heavy hitters", tending to reflect their situation on the world at large rather than on an individual: Pluto, Uranus, Saturn and Mars, with other planets involved at various stages. The configuration will be forming gradually from June to a completion in early August, then very slowly moving apart again. My own thoughts on the current cardinal cross follow:
Coming from the perspective of a non-professional astrologer, but one who has watched astrological events and their results with interest over many years, first thoughts on the upcoming cardinal cross are: it will not augur any single, immediately dire, event.

My view on astrology generally is that, at its core, there's something very, very important still to be discovered, but on its periphery there are rather too many assumptions held. I do note these titanic alignments and configurations, remain aware that there'll be something radically different in the astrological atmosphere, but without a clear idea of what that might be, or of what it could lead to.....or when.

Whatever alarms, changes or transformation might be indicated by the upcoming configuration of planets, I doubt that much will come to a head at the exact time the planets form this cardinal cross in early August. Things have been coming to "boiling point" for some years, and will continue to retain a lot of heat for some years more. Events have been stacking up: earthquakes, oil spills/leaks, volcano eruptions, political unrest. The same trend is likely to continue. We're talking about an era rather than a few days or weeks of this summer. The cardinal cross of 2010 is akin to a very loud thunder-clap during a storm as it passes right overhead.

Cardinal signs linked together indicate something of a climax. The planets involved can be heavy hitters. I tend to respect predictions based on Pluto, Uranus and Saturn more than most others. All three are involved here. Astrologers' predictions related to the cardinal cross need to be kept in mind, though not with an expectation of massive and immediate upheaval. A climax does not need to be all that dramatic, it can simply be a point at which there's a turn-around. In 100 years or so, when historians and astrologers look back, they'll be able to pinpoint a span of around 10 years when things on Earth, and lifestyles for its inhabitants, changed irreversibly. The summer of 2010 will, I suspect, be at center of that span.

In matters of the environment, energy, politics, the corporatocracy, militarism, religion there have been areas of serious concern building for some years. This cardinal cross could simply be a reflection of what we've been living through, and will continue to live through for a while longer.

We are in a period of gradual change, but then we always have been. The now isn't a lot different from any other time in history. We should try to avoid hyperbole, remain hopeful and remember John Steinbeck's words in "The Grapes of Wrath":

"This you may say of man – when theories change ... and crash, when schools, philosophies, when narrow dark alleys of thought, national, religious, economic, grow and disintegrate, man reaches, stumbles forward, painfully, mistakenly sometimes. Having stepped forward, he may slip back, but only half a step, never the full step back."

With a nod to Douglas Adams, the best advice of all....always:

Sunday Supplement ~ TAROT 2010

At the start of 2009 I drew three tarot cards and tried to interpret what they meant in the context of what 2009 held for the USA. (See here). The cards were Queen of Coins, 2 of Coins and Knight of Swords. I didn't do a very good job of interpreting them at that point, except in saying that the year wouldn't be as horrendous as many expected. It was horrendous for many individuals, personally - but there was no outbreak of WW3, cataclysmic environmental events, or serious pandemic. The Queen of Coins, with hindsight might have been a winking reference to Sarah Palin who somehow managed to keep herself in the spotlight all through 2009. Two of Coins - the juggling of economics. Knight of Swords - President Obama as Knight - but really needed to act as King to get things done - "It's good to be King!"

Well... let's see what three cards for 2010 will throw up. I shuffled and concentrated on the question "What do I need to know about 2010 in relation to the USA and Europe?"

2 of Swords
The FOOL

Sigh of relief - no Lightning-Struck Tower, or Devil, or Moon cards! Those are cards I never like to see.

My first thoughts (which are supposed to be the best) were : A feeling of being at a crossroads, not sure how to proceed, then deciding to go ahead with something which might appear unwise, trusting intuition. This course results in a practical, though rather unexciting solution. No catastrophes then! The Fool card is by far the strongest of the three, being from the Major Arcana of the tarot. I'd guess that a feeling of flying by the seat of our communal pants will be the pervading atmosphere of 2010.

Here's a variety of interpretations of the three cards, for mixing and matching, and fitting to the context of the question I posed. These come from website learntarot.com

Roller Coasting onward.....

Here comes 2010 - are we ready for another roller coaster of a year? Will it be more of the same stuff we ploughed through during 2009 or something completely different? Astrologers and psychics all around the internet have their own ideas. Why don't I chip in then?

Here's my intuitive take: As long as Uranus and Neptune continue as they have been for the past three years or so, hand-in-hand in semi-sextile, sometimes loose, sometimes tight, across the Aquarius-Pisces segment of the zodiac, no extreme changes will occur. A similar general atmosphere will continue, with minor peripheral change going on constantly, of course. I think it will only be when Uranus and Neptune finally separate from their semi-sextile that we'll notice an overall change of atmosphere. That kind of change is likely to begin around the middle of the coming decade. (Tarot coming on Sunday).

Happy New Year y'all!

"And ye, who have met with Adversity's blast,
And been bow'd to the earth by its fury;
To whom the Twelve Months, that have recently pass'd
Were as harsh as a prejudiced jury -
Still, fill to the Future! and join in our chime,
The regrets of remembrance to cozen,
And having obtained a New Trial of Time,
Shout in hopes of a kindlier dozen."

PS: I'm late on-line today because of MERCURY RETRO-EFFECT # 4 (see Tuesday's post for others). A power surge yesterday evening blinked the TV but fried our wireless router in spite of everything being surge protected! So out in the snow for a new router we had to go.

Peddling Fear

Originally this post was a bad-tempered rant, but it sat in draft form for 24 hours, giving me time to reconsider a few hard words I'd written about a well-known astrologer and his predictions for next year. I've toned it down.

In my view, astrologers ought be above scaring the s..t out of their readers. How on earth can it be useful, or ethical, to present doomy predictions based on what is, after all, an imperfect tool: astrology. Astrology is imperfect, especially for the purposes of prediction. If a passing reader can name any exact predictions of world or national events from the past which proved accurate, I'll be happy to eat my words.

The best that astrologers can honestly aim for is a vague forecast of what the general atmosphere of any given period of time might be, based on cycles; based on the passage of time, marked by the movement of the Sun, Moon and planets. Their movements track time in the way the hands on a clock track time. I'm beginning to suspect that the planets themselves, like the hands on a clock, are not "it". Time and its unknown properties, waves and cycles are "it", with the movement of the planets being our only available reference points.

Perhaps the next few years will bring us to an important point in time cycles, to the crest or trough of a "wave" of sorts, when events will prove, with hindsight, to have been highly significant. Details beyond that, presented by astrologers or anyone else, are guesses at best, and to my mind ought to be labelled as such. Assumptions as to whether events will prove negative or positive in effect cannot possibly known with any certainty. Comparing what happened "the last time" such and such a planetary formation occurred seems to me to be unhelpful. We are now part of a different cycle on the spiral of time. Things are different in every conceivable way from how they were "then" - whichever "then" is chosen.

I believe that astrology needs to be kept alive, pending a time when science, physics, and human knowledge catch up, and help to clarify the shadowy traditions bequeathed to us by astrologers of centuries past. I have a feeling this will happen. One day an unsuspecting physicist will utter those words..."That's funny!"

Astrology needs to be kept alive, but not by fear and pessimism - by love. Fear is a virus, it spreads and mutates, and unhealthily infects the collective mindset. Astrologers ought to keep this in mind.

One Year Ago ~ One Year Ahead

Just a year ago today we were on tenterhooks in the USA to discover who would be our new President.

President Obama won't actually have served a full year until January 2010, but this was the day when, late in the evening, we knew he'd been successful in his challenge for the presidency.

Many are critical of the progress the President has been able to make thus far.
Some overly optimistic supporters expected him to perform miracles. He hasn't done so, nor should we have expected it of him. What he has done, in a comparatively short time, is to raise the status of the United States in the eyes of much of the rest of the world. No longer is America the world's brutal despot. At least we're a few notches above that - seen now as a nation whose leader is compassionate, highly intelligent and level headed. He's moderate though. We ain't gonna see no revolutionary changes on his watch. But then, we wouldn't have seen any if a miracle had happened and my own first choice last year, Dennis Kucinich were made president.

People conveniently forget two things when belly-aching about the President's lack of dramatic progress in some important areas. 1) That around 46% of voters cast their vote for John McCain and (Gawd help us) Sarah Palin. There was no landslide of support, even though some commentators talked-up Obama's win into one. 2) That the US government is made up of three levels, legislative, executive and judicial. Congress, the legislative branch contains sharp thorny obstacles, which are no more easy to deal with by a revolutionary far-left president than by a moderate one. In fact, a moderate president has a better chance of achieving some level of progress through compromise.

Next year is thought by many astrologers to have all the signs of an especially difficult year. As long ago as 1996, in his book "Horoscope for the New Millennium", E. Alan Meese wrote of a "titanic T-square" in 2010, involving Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto as they enter cardinal signs (a similar formation to that during the Great Depression of the 1930s). Actually, much of what the author predicted for 2010 has already happened in the financial world. While I don't dispute that there could be more shocks ahead, on any front, I don't think the year will be as dire as is being foretold by some doom-ridden astrologers.

I decided to ask the tarot cards "what do I need to know about Obama's 2nd year in office?".

Now, I was a bit naughty because the first three cards I drew didn't seem to be very interesting. I waited 24 hours then asked again - and a weird thing happened - it has happened before - two of the 3 cards drawn the previous day appeared again, in the same order, plus one different card.
And one card fell out of the deck as I shuffled.
First day's draw
4 of Cups/Page of Swords/8 of Coins

2nd day's draw
4 of Cups/Page of Swords/3 of Rods (& 5 of Rods fell out of deck as I shuffled; when this happens it's thought that the card ought to be taken into account.)

4 of Cups is fairly clear: it represents a kind of apathy, withdrawal, introspection, a feeling of being disengaged.

Page of Swords - Swords belong to the element of Air, so is mentally centered - if the card represents a situation = analysis of a problem, renewed enthusiasm, clearing up confusion. Court cards can represent a person too, either the one who is subject of the question or another important to the response. The Page usually represents a young-ish person of either sex. I needed a little confirmation to interpret the card in this context, so sought assistance from a tarot website. This was the first I looked at, by Juniper Russo Tarascio:

When the Page of Swords is drawn, it refers to a situation that is rocky and tumultuous, but the person in the situation remains calm and in-control Despite obstacles, the subject of the tarot reading will prevail and be successful. That describes Obama, I reckon!
Like all Court Cards, the Page of Swords can indicate a person, rather than just a state of being...... When the Page of Swords symbolizes an individual, the person is almost always a woman or a feminine man. She is steadfast and confident, sometimes to a fault, and acts quickly and knowledgeably without second-guessing decisions.
But is it Obama himself? Or a woman important in his administration stepping in to provide assistance at some troublesome and significant time?

8 of Coins Dedicated approach, the approach of a craftsman getting steady material results.
3 of Rods Having foresight, providing direction, being visionary.
From those cards, in a nutshell, it seems that the President might enter his second year in office feeling a little depressed, or let down, leading to some introspection, which will, in turn, lead to a more energised period, with a will to tackle obstacles and there's a distinctly positive trend showing towards the end of the year.

The card which fell out of the deck - 5 Rods indicates struggles and dissension - no change there then!

I'm glad that no Major Arcana cards with negative connections appeared. This gives me confidence that 2010 is unlikely to be the bugaboo some astrologers predict - at least as far as the President of the USA is concerned. Some of the doom-laden predictions out there could relate to another part of the world, I guess. At any given time, there are going to be bad things happening somewhere. I don't remember a period in my lifetime when everything, everywhere, was sweetness and light. 2010 will be no different - that's my prediction.

Will 2010 be Annus Horribilis for the USA?

It's traditional for astrologers to make predictions at the start of a new year, but now we have a Russian academic, a Professor Igor Panarin, getting in on the act.

In a Wall Street Journal article by Andrew Osborn (read it HERE) we are told that the good professor expects that in mid-2010 the United States will disintegrate, eventually becoming four separate countries. He puts a 55%-45% likelihood on his prediction - which is, if you think about it no prediction at all. I could say "I predict that in April 2010 alien beings from another galaxy will make contact with Earth, it's a 55% to 45% chance!" That would be just as valid as the prof's visions.

I've borrowed the professor's USA map. Passing readers can see what the future, Panarin-style might hold for them.

"There's a 55-45% chance right now that disintegration will occur," he says. "One could rejoice in that process," he adds, poker-faced. "But if we're talking reasonably, it's not the best scenario -- for Russia." Though Russia would become more powerful on the global stage, he says, its economy would suffer because it currently depends heavily on the dollar and on trade with the U.S.

Mr. Panarin posits, in brief, that mass immigration, economic decline, and moral degradation will trigger a civil war next fall and the collapse of the dollar. Around the end of June 2010, or early July, he says, the U.S. will break into six pieces -- with Alaska reverting to Russian control.

The Professor doesn't detail exactly how he comes to this conclusion. I wonder if he's a closet astrologer. 2010 has been pinpointed by several astrologers as a "bad year", but hardly bad enough for the complete disintegration of the USA. The professor might have carried more credibility had he stated that his prediction could occur, say, "within the next 50 years" - but 2010? No. Too soon.

Do Russians do irony? I suspect they do.

Professor Panarin is looking for some quick, cheap publicity, in my opinion. Many in Russia would gloat over the thought of his prediction coming true, it will stir up interest, enough perhaps for a soon to be written book?

Here's an astrologer's take on the 2010 situation from Astrobarry at his blog dated 25 November 2008, HERE :

Extract

Meanwhile, by the middle of 2010, Uranus finds his way to the Pisces-Aries cusp… crossing over it while under the sway of his square with Pluto, a mega-astro-affair that stays within 5-degree orb through 2017. And as if that weren't enough, Jupiter also ends up in Aries by mid-2010—just in time to add extra electrifying energy to the Saturn-Uranus-Pluto t-square.

The exaggerated effect of Jupiter conjunct Uranus near the Aries Point (the first degree of Aries, and the beginning of a new zodiac cycle) is like the turbo-charged icing on the cake that ensures 2010 will be a memorable year. The addition of Jupiter, an expansive presence, to Uranus's side of the delicate Saturn-Uranus balance can't help but tip the scales away from Saturn-in-Libra's steady moderating influence…and toward the sudden, irrational, explosive 'power to the people' movement birthed by Uranus in Aries. Jupiter also boosts Uranus's liberating ferocity in his square-off with Pluto, fueling the fire of its 'war of independence' against the overlords of global capitalism that seek to keep the underclasses in their place.

2010 might well manifest as Annus Horribilis for some - especially for the USA's Fat Cats Inc., but for the rank and file of us, it'll likely pass much like any other year. There'll a few lightning strikes, a lot of hot air, both natural and man-made, the Sun will continue to rise and the Moon make her monthly cycles. To borrow from T.S. Eliot, who borrowed from English 14th century female mystic Julian of Norwich: "All will be well, and all manner of things will be well".

(Note: Annus Horribilis = Horrible Year. It is derived from the Latin phrase 'annus mirabilis' - year of wonders (or miracles). Recorded since the mid 1980's but brought into popular use after Queen Elizabeth II used it to describe 1992 - the year that the marriages of her two sons Charles and Andrew broke down and Windsor Castle caught fire.)

2010

Much has been written about the year 2012, when the Mayan calendar ends. From what I've read recently, the year 2010 ought to be more of a cause for concern than 2012.

I'm not doom-mongering today, but underlining for myself, and any passing readers, the weightiness of choices made in upcoming elections in the USA. Elections are always important, but this year's could prove to be outstandingly significant, in view of what might occur in the first years of the new presidency. Let's hope passionately that someone of the right calibre is elected!

Astrologer Philip Brown wrote about 2010 in August 2006: "Astrology of the Middle East."
He linked there to the article which had started me thinking about this: a piece by Bill Street, from 2004 "The Astrology of 2010. Personal and Generational Implications".

Mr. Street offered a graphic image of the times in question:

".....occurring in 2010 is a T-Square alignment involving Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto—a rare alignment and a profound symbol connoting societal and socio-economic transformation.
Although the full explication of this alignment has been addressed in the previous two essays, I will borrow an iconographic image from popular culture to help to better understand the meaning behind the planetary symbolism. One of the most popular scenes in the original Star Wars involves the rebel forces caught within a trash compactor. Trying to elude oncoming storm troopers, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and other members of the rebel alliance find themselves trapped within a garbage processing machine. With the walls of the trash compactor closing in on the heroes swiftly, time is of the essence and a creative solution is absolutely imperative. This famous scene captures so many of the potentials and meanings of the 2010 alignment involving Saturn, Pluto, and Uranus: constrictive forces creating crisis; garbage, waste, and unprocessed filth; rebels and revolutionaries; rebirth from the darkness into a new case scenario; and elemental intensity that demands awareness and creative solutions. "

Here's a representation of that T-square on a chart for Washington DC at 12 noon on 2nd August 2010. I've marked the T-square, which falls in three cardinal signs, Aries, Libra and Capricorn, making the configuration potentially stronger. It's made up of an opposition (180*) and two squares (90*). (Click to enlarge)

E. Alan Meece's views on 2010 can be found in his book "Astrology for the New Millennium", published 1996.

Snippets:
"Dodging an Apocalypse: A Titanic T-Square
2010 looks like a year of sudden, cataclysmic changes and drastic forced new beginnings..........This titanic, historic T-square involves the same four planets as the T-square which coincided with the Great Depression. The solar eclipse in July could trigger a major world-wide financial collapse. Pluto in Capricorn suggests not only that many corporations will go bankrupt, but that economic troubles will bring down many governments with dizzying speed as revolutions sweep the globe. But as we mentioned in Chapter 13, in 2010 the lunar cycles in the Progressed Horoscope of Modern Humanity indicate that the common people may be in retreat. This could mean people will be easy prey to xenophobia and fear of "radicals" as in the 1920s, '50s, and '80s. This was just how Hitler eventually rose to power during the previous Great Depression, On the other hand, altruistic compassion will still permeate the period as Neptune in Aquarius helps moderate the fears among the people, and may indicate that "enlightened" authorities will make constructive, revolutionary changes on behalf of the people and the planet.

The crisis of 2010 will result from the various religious conflicts around the world, magnified by serious shortages and famines; and above all, I believe, by ecological disasters................A major war may break out in August 2010. If this happens refugee problems will be even worse. Central Asia is the most likely battle scene, but America's involvement there would be only economic. The worst war clouds will pass as the T-square dissolves...........

There is no doubt in my mind that the years 2010 and 2011 will be the most difficult of any we face in the next half-century. If we survive them in reasonably good shape we will have dodged the worst bullet in our future."

There may well be predictions similar to these by other astrologers. The planetary configuration described doesn't bring forth visions of hearts and flowers. Events could, of course, turn out to be a fairly muted version of the troubles predicted, rather than a full-on wham-bammer. I've noticed something about predicitons, over the years: although the overall flavour might be correct, the scale or perspective often proves to be well-skewed. I'm not faulting astrologers, psychics or seers, they are very brave to hazard any kind of prediction at all. Even identifying the flavour speaks volumes to me. Bearing in mind the potential though, it becomes very clear that the next president of the USA will have plenty to face, even after he/she has dealt with some of the garbage left over from the previous administration. That's something voters would be wise to bear in mind.
