As a Cockney Bingo-caller Might Say of my Weekend Birthday: "There you go matey!""

I can't find much to make it sound nicer - I could say quatre-vingts, or ottanta, or ochenta, or achtzig. I could even say, echoing another bing-caller "Ghandi's breakfast" [translation: "ate nought" or looking down from above on Mahatma Gandhi sitting cross-legged in front of a plate.] TSK!

However it's termed, nothing will change the fact that I shall arrive at the big
Eight-Oh, birthday-wise, on Sunday 27th. I'll arrive not particularly bloody, other than bloody-minded, and not particularly unbowed except for the joint and muscle pains brought on by a pesky medication which will have to be given the old heave-ho.

So, in honour of all the above considerations, I'm giving myself a long weekend off-blog to mark the...erm...event.

Don't stay up all night celebrating like you did in your 70s!
Just tell everyone you're from Mars, which accounts for your youthful vigor.

Well well done indeed, a huge milestone which so many don't make at all. You are a survivor having kicked the Big C in the balls.

Happy birthday and long may your big jib draw as we say out here on the Edge. :D

Irish wish:
May you live to be a hundred years,
With one extra year to repent!

Anonymous ~ Thanks - that's a good idea - if I can summon up some of that, that is! :)

Wisewebwoman ~ Thank you, WWW! LOL! My big jib is a tad lethargic right now, but it'll draw - with a bit of womanly persuasion and a following wind. :)

Oh, my, I must apologise! It's been a busy week and I haven't had much time for blog-perusing. Many belated happy birthday wishes - though, at our age (I'm only seven behind you, old-'un) I can't help feeling they're better forgotten. Just remember, you may be 80 Fahrenheit but your only just over 26 Celsius!
PS Mrs RJ arrived at seventy on the 23rd.

RJ Adams ~ No apologies, RJ - please! Goodness gracious me, you have far too much serious stuff to be worrying about right now! But thank you kindly for your good wishes.

I thought about Mrs RJ earlier in the week, remembering that she's another with her natal Sun in Aquarius, and hoping that her 71st year will be hugely better for her, and for you, than the horrendous year just passed. Yet another with a birthday around same time (26th January), husband's younger daughter, broke an ankle and a foot just before Christmas. Aquarius seems to be falling down on the job of looking after his natives right now. :-/
