A major problem in this "Real Abominables" exercise is in obtaining accurate birth data for indviduals involved, once these characters have been identified as having some level of leadership in the atrocities and genocides.
Oliver Cromwell, devasted Ireland and its inhabitants centuries ago, but there's no reliable birth data for him. Likewise, for Andrew Jackson, a figure involved in the Native American genocides in the early days of this nation. Even for Joseph Stalin, and some other well-known characters, there isn't a truly reliable set of data. I was about to start on a post about the man known as "Chemical Ali" due to his horrendous crimes in Iraq, real name Ali Hassan al-Majid, only to find that there's doubt on his birth data too.
I've decided to draw the series to a close now, by looking at one of the several figures involved in the Bosnian Genocide of the 1990s. Not Slobodan Milosovic, the best-known name involved in those events, because his birth data rated only a DD at Astrodienst. Even if I discount a time of birth and go with 12 noon, I'm not even 100% confident about the date. But, for reference, astrologer Lynn Hayes has written an astrological profile on him with the data available...see HERE.
I'm going to take a look at the chart of a female who was involved at a high level in the Bosnian Genocide: Biljana Plavšić. I have checked her date of birth in the case report, so it appears to be reliable, though with no birth time known.
BACKGROUND
It's not easy to nutshell the background to these events. To keep the post a reasonable length. I shall rely on bare bones, and brief borrowings only, with links to more detail from reliable websites.
Biljana Plavšić, was a leading Bosnian Serb political figure holding a senior office before, during and after the 1992-1995 conflict. She participated in the persecutions of Bosnian Muslim, Bosnian Croat and other non-Serb populations in 37 municipalities. Plavšić supported a campaign of ethnic separation which resulted in the death of thousands of civilians and the expulsion of thousands more from municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina in circumstances of great brutality, by inviting paramilitaries from Serbia to assist Bosnian Serb forces in effecting ethnic separation by force.
Mrs Plavsic came to politics late in life, after a career as a biologist, in which she published about 100 scholarly papers. She was appointed professor of biology at Sarajevo University in 1956 before taking up further academic posts in Prague and the United States.
She became a deputy to the Bosnian Serb leader, Radovan Karadzic, known by some as "Butcher of Bosnia".
Biljana Plavšić was renowned throughout the 1990s as an uncompromising apologist of ethnic cleansing. Mrs Plavsic was virulently anti-Muslim. The self-styled "Serbian Iron Lady" once defended the purge of Bosnian non-Serbs as "a natural phenomenon" not a war crime.
She once insisted:"There are 12 million Serbs and even if six million perish on the field of battle, there will still be six million to reap the fruits of the struggle."
Even Slobodan Milosevic regarded her as a radical. Her outbursts led him to question her mental health, while Mr Milosevic's wife, Mirjana Markovic, dubbed her a "female Mengele" in a reference to the notorious Nazi doctor.
In 1992, a widely-circulated photograph showed her stepping over the body of a dead Muslim civilian to kiss the notorious Serb warlord Zeljko Raznjatovic, known as Arkan. But a decade later, she pleaded guilty to crimes against humanity, and apologised to "all the innocent victims of the Bosnian war - Muslims, Croats and Serbs alike".
Her change of heart was seen by some as a calculated manouevre to win a reduced sentence, and by others as part of a sincere and steady evolution of her attitudes to the Balkan wars.
She herself said that she had nothing to gain by seeking a reduced sentence, because at her age (72) even moderate 10-year jail term would in practice mean spending the rest of her life behind bars. In the event, she got 11 years. She was released after serving six years, in October 2009. See HERE.

ASTROLOGY
Two things stand out for me: Sun conjunct Pluto and Mars conjunct Fixed Star Algol, which, at the time of her birth would have been at 25 degrees of Taurus and some minutes.
Algol is a Fixed Star ancient astrologers cast as malefic and unfortunate. Some modern astrologers strive to find a positive side to it, and no doubt in certain circumstances it can turn out to have had its benefits. (See astrologer Yasmin Boland's piece HERE)
More appropriate to this present finding of Mars conjunct Algol in Plavšić's natal chart is astrologer Joni Patry's article Fixed Stars and Mass Murders, HERE.
Ms Patry points out that Mars conjunct Algol was also present in the natal chart of Osama Bin Laden.
Sun conjunct Pluto is described at Darkstar Astrology as: The Darth Vader of all Sun aspects. This is high contrast and stark lighting. The brighter the Sun the darker the shadow and that is just what we get here.
There's obviously more to be said about this natal chart, but I'm going to stop there, with what I see as the points of major significance.
This post is the last of a short weekly series looking at charts of some of The Real Abominables. Perhaps another post on this topic will stray in at some point in the future, when enthusiasm strikes again; and if so will be linked back to this recent set.
What has shown up as being reasonably common factors from this very small sample? I've noticed well-integrated Pluto, bundled chart shapes, some emphasis on Fixed Stars.
POSTSCRIPT: I would not wish to ignore, for the purposes of this series, the beyond horrendous Nazi Holocaust and its perpetrators. However, all has been analysed again and again elsewhere, over time. Here are links to two fairly recent pieces of interest. The first takes in, briefly, many high level Nazi leaders with points on their natal charts seen as significant by astrologer Jamie Pardridge at Astrology King blog: Nazi Horoscopes. Another piece, Hitler and the Golden Yod at Chirotic Journal blog has an interesting take on Hitler's chart.

Genocide in Bosnia (1992-1995)
Although many different ethnic and religious groups had resided together for 40 years under Yugoslavia’s repressive communist government, this changed when the country began to collapse during the fall of communism in the early 1990s. The provinces of Slovenia and Croatia declared independence, and war quickly followed between Serbia and these breakaway republics. Ethnic tensions were brought to the forefront, and people who had lived peacefully for years as neighbors turned against each other and took up arms. When Bosnia attempted to secede, Serbia – under Slobodan Miloševic’s leadership – invaded with the claim that it was there to “free” fellow Serbian Orthodox Christians living in Bosnia.
Starting in April 1992, Serbia set out to “ethnically cleanse” Bosnian territory by systematically removing all Bosnian Muslims, known as Bosniaks. Serbia, together with ethnic Bosnian Serbs, attacked Bosniaks with former Yugoslavian military equipment and surrounded Sarajevo, the capital city. Many Bosniaks were driven into concentration camps, where women and girls were systematically gang-raped and other civilians were tortured, starved and murdered.

Thanks for the interesting series of genocidal nasties, Twilight! Sadly, these atrocities are in-step with humans' history, always being generated in the here-and-now, and becoming the past as the years go by. New human depravity always replacing the old. I tend to view the astrology of these individuals as consorts of massacres having natal astrological placements that resonate with the ongoing, extant transits.
ReplyDeletePlavsic's natal chart resonates with the transits of 1992 - 1995. Uranus and Neptune were transiting Capricorn those years and opposing her stellium in Cancer and were conjunct her natal Saturn just prior to the conflict...something pissed her off...LOL. The sign of Cancer will do whatever is required to protect their security. Transiting Pluto in Scorpio opposed her natal Mars, which you already indicated as problematic. It's interesting that she was released from prison just as transiting Saturn and Pluto formed their square, which brought-in her natal Jupiter in Cancer to form a T-square.
It's such a fine line with these wars and devastation. One side sees these individuals as heroes, the other as monsters. History defines the winners-losers and the adjectives.

that I know to be an absolute fact~!!
cancer is my moon and from what I read its in the 4th house-- at Home, the astro site said:)

wonderful news...
I got my appointment for a phone reading with Mr.Lutin.. I am sooooooooooo excited..
thanks again Mike. Just knowing some help is available makes me feel more peaceful inside.
mike ~ Yes, that resonating thing reminds me of a vision of a boating pond (or similar), when the guy in charge shouts "Come in #3, your time is up!". In the Real Abominables' case, they received the universal/planetary atmosphere's call to "come in" and draw on the worst aspects of their selves.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the additional astrological points.
Sonny - Wow!!!! I'm SO VERY GLAD that you will receive a reading from Michael Lutin...he is world-class...he used to write monthlies for Vanity Fair magazine and has an excellent reputation in the astrology world. I just know that he will be able to provide the guidance to assist you. I can't tell you how pleased I am for you (and a bit envious, too).
ReplyDeleteThe Moon is the natural ruler of Cancer, the zodiacal fourth house. In YOUR natal chart, Cancer is your ninth house, so your Moon is in your natal ninth house and the Moon is in its rulership of Cancer. Hope that makes sense.
I can't wait to hear about your reading!
Sonny ~ Good move - I'll look forward to your comment on the phone call, in due course. So glad you're feeling more at ease. :-)
ReplyDeleteSonny ~ I slept *very* late this morning, dreamed of *you*. It was something about your father, who would go away but always bring (or leave) you 'gifts' before (or after) he departed. Some of the details are fuzzy.
ReplyDeleteDon't know if that makes any sense at all but I wanted to share just in case it meant something - which I'm not saying it does.
Glad you're feeling better.:)
thanks so much Mike and Annie..
ReplyDeleteI called the number expecting to get the answering machine he mentions on his site and was prepared to leave my message-- but I heard HELLO and I stammered in shock:) I truly was surprised and his voice has such a nice sound to it.
I surely will share and if he sends his reading via email also- I would love to forward it to ya'll to read.
******************
thanks LB..
yes I can see where you might have a dream like that about me and I am happy to hear you did.
at 3 I saw the "men in the white coats" come and take my dad away for the first time-that I saw it anyway. He'd be gone for weeks and sometimes months at a time, but he always came back and he'd bring something he bought at the hospital gift shop as he was leaving. The greatest gift of course was that he did come back..
Years past with fewer of those times away but eventually they started again and in 1972 as I stood by his beside, he held my hand and told me how very tired he was. I told him it was ok for him to rest. I knew I knew I'd be leaving without him,, or at least without his physical body. His spirit is never far away and I talk to him often....
*************
my mom died friday afternoon at about 4 pm. I know she has finally found the peace and love she searched for on this earthly plane and I am at peace with it... I feel that NOW where she is,, she knows and understands me and that brings a smile to my face.
**************
thanks so much Annie for making this a place I feel free to speak.
its very comforting..
Sonny ~ I'm so sorry about your mom. No wonder it's been a challenging time for you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for clarifying the meaning of my dream. I'm glad I shared and happy to hear you still feel your dad's presence in your life. He must love you very much for him to come through for me.
You know, right now the transiting North Node in Libra (the sign of relationships) is conjunct your natal 12th house Neptune as well as my own progressed Node in the progressed 12th. Though all that may not make much sense, I believe it helped forge our connection this morning. My Sun is conjunct your Ascendant too.
Take care, Sonny. Your chart tells me there's lots of loving support available for you, though you can't always see it and it may confuse and even overwhelm you at times.:)
You and I share the same Moon square Neptune aspect, so I understand some of your sensitivity and also the need to practice divine discernment while still allowing spiritual energies and inspiration to flow.
Your artistic and spiritual gifts must be amazing.
Keeping you in my thoughts, Sonny.
Sonny ~ What I didn't say in my original comment was that I felt very strongly the dream was meant to convey a message of love for you. I could *feel* it.
ReplyDeleteTwilight ~ Thanks for allowing us to share in this way. I really appreciate it.
Sonny & LB - and mike...
ReplyDeleteI'm happy that the sharing is of help and comfort. I read along, but unless I have something to pass on, I think it's best for me to just read.
Thanks, Twilight. I'm still reading and appreciate your posts. Just been feeling too emotionally out of sorts to comment lately. It's not altogether bad, more like being out in the deep of the ocean and not having the energy or inclination to swim back to shore . . . yet. Been sleeping a LOT.
ReplyDeleteHope your foot is less painful today. Based on your description, it must be pretty uncomfortable.:(
Sonny - My sympathy to you for the loss of your mother. A woman I know had extremely bizarre parents that passed away about a decade ago. She told me that their passing freed her in a way she had not known prior. It's done and over...memories only at that point. My father passed two years ago, my mother this past April, and I have to say that I agree with my friend's assessment of her parents' passing. Parents hold a tremendous power over their children...it's easy to forget they are people, like all other people, with their own unique burdens and gifts.
ReplyDeletemy sincere thanks for your kind and supportive words ,, It means more than I can express..
ReplyDeleteyes Mike,
it feels like that journey and all it entailed is now at an end.
I will cherish what was good and allow everything else to be wrapped in a bubble of love, understanding and forgiveness.
"I will cherish what was good and allow everything else to be wrapped in a bubble of love, understanding and forgiveness."
ReplyDeleteAmen to that, Sonny.:) When we forgive others, we release and heal ourselves. Sometimes it can take a while though, to get to a place where we can look back honestly and assimilate the lessons.
It's been several years now, yet I still occasionally discover things about my parents that surprise me. These discoveries have helped me to better understand our relationship and myself.
Sometimes it's the things we don't know or don't want to face that hold the most power over us. The boundaries between *them* and us can be blurred. At least that's been true for me.:)
