Stephen Bannon, a Trump right-hand man (for now).

Stephen Kevin "Steve" Bannon (born November 27, 1953)
(SNIP from Wikipedia's page)
is an American businessman and media executive. He is the executive chairman of Breitbart News, a politically conservative American news, opinion and commentary website noted for its connection to the alt-right. Bannon will be Chief Strategist and Senior Counselor of the upcoming Trump Administration. He became chief executive officer of the 2016 presidential campaign of Donald Trump in August 2016.

He is the co-founder and executive chairman of the Government Accountability Institute and the executive chairman of Breitbart News LLC, the parent company of Breitbart News. He has been involved in the financing and production of a number of films, including Fire from the Heartland: The Awakening of the Conservative Woman, The Undefeated (on Sarah Palin), and Occupy Unmasked. Bannon also hosts a radio show (Breitbart News Daily) on a Sirius XM satellite radio channel.

This guy is one of several reasons why it's becoming harder and harder to see any good side of the Trump presidency-to-be. Scroll down to Wiki's "Personal Life" section for worse. The only hope I can imagine is that, after the new President get his "feet under the table", he will stop feeling the need for this guy's support, and prove it in an early "You're fired!" session. Wishful thinking though, that!

A look at Bannon's natal chart - I've not seen it elsewhere on the net, yet.

Born in Norfolk, Virginia on 27 November, 1953. Time of birth unknown, chart set for 12 noon.

The opposition and some of the square aspects forming possible T-square rely on the inclusion of North node of Moon and Chiron, neither of which are classic components - which is not to say there's no information to be gleaned from these indications, as well as the squares from Uranus to Mars and Neptune. All of these aspects indicate challenge of one kind or another, mental and physical.

What I noticed next - actually first - was that Mars, Neptune, Saturn and Mercury all lie in the area known traditionally as Via Combusta (Burning Road). In ancient times this region was thought to be an unfortunate, or difficult, sector of the chart. Perhaps this has significance here, perhaps not, but it's something I keep in mind. (There are several posts relating to Via Combusta in the archives - accessible from Label Cloud in the sidebar).

Sun in Sagittarius would seem pleasant enough, but isn't linked closely to much else in the chart - unless time of birth linked it to the ascendant.

Moon's position is uncertain - could be late Leo or early Virgo, might be conjuct Pluto, which would be a hint of the darkness some onlookers see in this person. Jupiter sextiles Pluto anyway, bringing some heaviness into the picture. Jupiter in Gemini also trines Neptune in Libra, while Pluto sextiles Neptune from Leo. So there is clear aspect harmony between Jupiter, Pluto and Neptune - the Good, the Bad and The Ugly? (wink) Neptune links to Bannon's career in film-making, mustn't forget that.

There's little astrological Earth (practicality, feet on the ground) in the chart - other than via Chiron and N. Node, though rising sign could change that.

We are not likely to find direct links in a natal chart to such traits as anti-semitism, white supremacisism or any other -isms, we can only (especially without time of birth available) assess basic tenor of the person's character. In Bannon's case, the feeling I get, from a 12 noon chart, is that there's certainly potential for darkness, but, if ascendant were to be supportive of it, also potential for some lightening of that darkness.

Let's have a look at Donald Trump's chart in relation to Bannon's - see where the compatibility might originate:

Donald Trump born in Jamaica, Queens, New York on 14 June 1946 at 10.54 AM

Immediately seen: Trump's Sun conjunct Bannon's Jupiter.
If Bannon's Moon were in late Leo it'd be close to Trump's ascendant and Mars.
Trump's Jupiter is conjunct Bannon's Mars.
Trump's Jupiter sextiles his own Pluto - the Jupiter Pluto link occurs in Bannon's chart also.

Any ideas?

  1. Bannon has Neptune on his Mars/Saturn midpoint. Given how he has expressed it up until this time in his life he is a domestic terrorist. Enough said.

  2. This morning's news of Steven Mnuchin as Treasurer...hmmmm. X-Goldman-Sachs, X-OneWest, and now CEO of Dune Capital, plus a movie producer. A fundraiser for Trump's election campaign. He's not without controversy:

As for Bannon, I's sure he and Trump have much in common ideologically, and you provide astrological aspects for their eye-winkin' bromance. Bannon spits hate and vitriol of the EXTREME Republican brand, so he's not in my cohort by a long distance. Such a nasty man...LOL. He's known as a hot-head, so maybe he and Trump will find some sour grapes to munch upon, eventually leading to a divorce. His anti-semitic rants may make Mnuchin and Priebus a little uncomfortable, and his prior financial experience may find him wanting to manage Mnuchin.

Of course, Reince Priebus as Chief of Staff isn't unexpected, but another on the extreme right fringe, the fringe he helped to create. His prolific interactions with the Republican Party as RNC Chair make him a liaison between those that Trump has offended, but friction may turn to flames, with him in the middle.

We'll hear soon whether Myron Ebell (ugh) is offered a permanent position as EPA chief. Boooo Hoooo, sob...bye-bye Earth. I've read that Sarah Palin is salivating for this spot, though I'm sure she'll take whatever mama bear is offered.

Rudy Giuliani is waiting in obedience for Secretary of State or Attorney General. What will his reward be for his Trump-worthy demonstrations of insanity during the campaign? Chris Christie was ousted from his transition team appointment, so does that indicate he's out entirely or merely on hiatus?

Previous president-elects were known to have their long and short lists of potential appointees, but we the people were typically left to guess and ponder the names. Trump's list is not too confidential and is replete with atmospherics of a reality TV program. Sycophants abound and are coming out in droves to pander.

The Washington DC swamp is being drained. I thought it was simply being replaced with raw sewage, but now seems to be biohazardous, toxic waste.

  3. There's already too much tl;dr out here in the blogosphere, but here's a simple, fast read about this:

  6. mike (and again and again) :-)

The transition team (which I understand this is) has few if any "white hat guys/gals".

They appear to be the ones whose job it'll be to fill the gaping holes and empty desks when Obama's White House staff head out with their boxes full of personal photos, notebooks etc. From
    https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2016-11-14/4-000-reasons-to-think-trump-s-power-will-be-restrained

Four thousand: That’s the number of political appointees President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team will have to pick in the next few months for the government to continue running effectively after President Barack Obama leaves office. The challenge is great for any new administration; it’s especially daunting for a political outsider whose staff, according to the Wall Street Journal, was surprised to hear last week that it would have to replace everyone in the West Wing.

Thanks for the links which I shall peruse in a mo.

I'll swap ya for one that I'd normally feel to be in the category of tldr but, due to its content & style, I read all through with some pleasure:

"No More Flyover Country" by Raúl Ilargi Meijer at The Automatic Earth ( first saw the link at Naked Capitalism.)

  7. mike ~ Two good links - many thanks. Yes, Bernie still has plenty of fire in his belly. Good interview. I started tearing up at the thought of what we could have had...Dang!

I meant to ask in my comment above if you'd seen the video of CBS interview with Trump a couple of days ago. I watched it yesterday - thought it interesting, at the very least. He's a different Donald there, later in the interview his wife and family are invited in. Interviewer was top notch, I thought - didn't allow him to slither out of much.

  8. Raúl Meijer was far too kind, I thought! His, "Moreover, to a large extent people are up in protest against the image the Hillary campaign and the media have painted of Trump, not the man himself." Really?! The media can only be blamed for their patronage and over-presenting of EVERY Donald moment. No, my opinion of Trump was formed directly by hearing those vitriolic shit-bombs coming out of Donald's very own mouth. Trump's foul verbiage and post-truth lies were his alone to claim. I didn't need an interpreter or intermediate to package Trump's foul, deplorable rhetoric, often padded with false statements.

Meijer's essay was appropriate for those like you, Twilight, that are hopeful Trump's presidency doesn't turn-out like his pre-election persona (keep on keeping your fingers crossed!). I subscribe to what-you-see-is-what-you-get. There is an overload of essays and cartoons on the net to satisfy anyone's particular translation of Trump, now that he's actually the next POTUS.

I haven't been this disturbed-disgusted with politics since lil Bush declared war on Afghanistan, Iraq, and terrorism, and implemented the PATRIOT Act, with all of its convolutions.

No idea yet if the time suggests impeachment beginnings or the result of the same. I prefer it would be the latter as it could indicate that the previous year T had been kept from dealing with much else (us). If he was tied up (and I wish that would be literally) for most of 2019 it could be because of a shift in the Congress after the 2018 mid-terms.

  10. No, I didn't view the "60 Minutes" Trump interview. I don't receive CBS over the airwaves. Leslie Stahl is top-notch...she's of the old-school journalism.

Re Bernie - There have been too many times I've pondered his loss to Hillary. Nice that it's mainstream information, due to WikiLeaks, that the DNC and Hillary were enemy combatants toward his campaign. He seems to be a ready and potent force for Trump to beware. He appeared well-rested in the Rose interview. Did you catch the couple of times Bernie became irritated with Rose? I liked it when Bernie asked Charlie, "and what's your point?". I think Bernie gained a lot from his Democratic Party run: he's widely recognized as a fair player now and his name carries potency.

  11. Bob...LOL! Too bad the transits are for 2020 and not 2017. That may be when Trump declares he is now our dictator...no need for a 2020 election cycle.

  12. mike (again) Re Meijer's article...lol...I suspected that'd be your opinion. I'm disgusted too - and by much more than Donald Trump. I'm likely in the minority of non-Republicans in wondering whether he will actually turn out to be the monster we're led to expect as Prez. I'm no stranger to the minority - been there most of my life, one way or another. I prefer to search for silver linings rather than foresee a tornado that might never hit, while also being aware that a tornado has been sighted. ;-)

Yes, Bernie has garnered a lot of well-deserved respect through his run and his persistence - though not by the ridiculous cadre of online commenters who are still labelling him "betrayer" and suchlike for keeping his pledge to support HRC, and will not find a good word for him.

I liked Bernie's attitude to Trump in the Rose interview - he acknowledged that he's "smart" while still decrying his horrendous traits as displayed during the campaign. I suppose he hopes Trump's smarts will steer him away from relying too much on all the wrong types, once he sees for himself how that's being very badly received by many of the public. Trump never did denigrate Bernie, far as I recall, by the way.

  13. Bob ~ Looks at least like severe difficulties for DT - your guesses seem reasonable scenarios given what we can glean. Not looking forward to that time myself - my natal Mercury will be under siege - I'll be almost certainly blogless by then - at best. ;-) Don't worry, be happy indeed!

  14. mike ~ Forgot to answer your question about Bernie's irritation with Rose on a few occasions. Yes, I noticed. Bernie's so straightforward, he doesn't beat about the bush, doesn't try to pander, or brown-nose, just says exactly what's in his heart, and never mind what people think. Some might call that curmudgeonly, I call it plain speaking and fearlessness.

I was just having a look at Bannon's chart and if you look at progressions and assume that on election day Bannon's Moon was progressed over his Sun then his birth time is about 8.30 am which puts his Mars on the MC with Chiron square and the Sun in the 12th house. This does it for me since his Sun is weak and his strength is his Moon with Pluto sitting between Neptune and Jupiter - a good place for pantomime, especially with not much earth (as with Trump).

Note that on the March 20th equinox Pluto will be transiting Bannon's Chiron (precession corrected)with Saturn trine his delusionary Moon/Pluto in his Leo power centre with transiting Uranus adding its influence along with Jupiter and Vesta which all contribute to a Grand Cross - which also activates Trump's Sun Moon opposition.

I can hear the war drums humming!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Neil Crabtree ~ Hey there! Thank you for these additional astrological points.
A birth time of 8.30 AM gives Sagittarius rising with Jupiter in Gemini on the descendant. That feels a bit too light, or "nice", from what we know about this guy so far. The impression given by media could be a bit off - or a lot off, though.

If there are to be war drums let us hope fervently they are internal to the administration. Bannon on the receiving end of a "You're fired" would be good! :-)
