First, a wee bit of reporting back, regarding that pesky Grand Cross formation of late April this year. In my post about the formation I mentioned that my own natal Saturn at 12.55 Aries would be hooked up in the Grand Cross pattern which linked planets in cardinal signs at around 13 degrees. At the time I couldn't relate anything personal to me other than having recently changed computer operating system after some 10 years, from Windows XP to Windows 7.
Shortly after those Grand Cross days of late April I began to be aware of a problem with my scalp - itching, scaly, getting gradually worse. I'd experienced a similar condition before, back in the 1990s in the UK. I wasn't unduly alarmed because then it was reasonably quickly cleared up using a particular shampoo (Nizoral 2%), and a mild corticosteroid liquid scalp treatment. This year's version eventually grew more virulent though, possibly it was seborrhoeic dermatitis rather than a simple fungal scalp infection. My hair began falling out in places where the problem was at its worst.
The Grand Cross involved my natal Saturn in Aries being conjoined by Uranus, squared by Pluto and Jupiter and opposed by Mars. Aries in medical astrology rules the head face and eyes; Capricorn rules knees, joints and hair, Saturn, Capricorn's governor rules the skin and bones. (Information from here) So, did the Grand Cross reflect its challenges in my scalp and hair problem? Any ideas?
I think - hope - that I now have the problem under control, I'm fairly optimistic that the lost hair will grow back in time, in the meantime I can cover the loss by some judicious combing...or by wearing a hat! I cannot, though, risk carrying on with my visits to the hairdresser every 2 months or so for a dye job. It could even be that my scalp, at last, had rebelled against some element of that treatment. I won't mind the white/grey - it's time now. ...some would say past time!
This is clever!

Ever wondered why, in a universe as vast as we are told it is, we Earthlings have never been contacted by beings from somewhere out there? There's an entertaining and enlightening article titled The Fermi Paradox at an always interesting website:

P.S. - My sister went to the doctor several times for her scalp problem and tried a number of different over-the-counter and prescription products...nothing worked and she spent a lot of $. She was very surprised that there were natural alternatives that were successful, but she only tried them, because the standard treatments were not successful.
ReplyDeletemike ~ Thanks for the ideas, I'll keep them in mind should this problem not have gone far enough away for long enough. I hesitate to blame the hairdresser, I go only once every 2 months or so, to the same local salon, and have done so for almost 10 years without problem. I'll carry on blaming Uranus in Aries and that pesky Grand Cross!
ReplyDeleteI'd never heard of Judge Jeanine, but much enjoyed cheering on Russell Brand's rant. :-) It's a pity someone in the USA doesn't have the balls to do the same, but in a more understandable accent for the natives. ;-)
Re life on other planets - yes, that was one of the stated possible reasons for non-contact, and probably the most likely. Any species capable of contact over vast reaches of the universe would have to be aeons ahead of us in advancement - we'd seem scarcely more advanced than the amoeba to their eyes - if they indeed had eyes. We tend to think of other species as being some variation on ourselves, but if any other intelligent (as we know it - kind of!) species exist, they could well be in a form we might not even be able to comprehend. Another reason for non-contact.
Back to the petri dish then! :-)
“The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that it has never tried to contact us.” Bill Watterson
ReplyDelete“Kilgore Trout once wrote a short story which was a dialogue between two pieces of yeast. They were discussing the possible purposes of life as they ate sugar and suffocated in their own excrement. Because of their limited intelligence, they never came close to guessing that they were making champagne.” Kurt Vonnegut, Breakfast of Champions
“We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn’t want to meet,” Stephen Hawking
Twilight ~ Have you considered the possibility your scalp issues *might* be a form of psoriasis? This would also tie in with Saturn, since in more extreme cases, it can affect the joints as well.
ReplyDeleteEvery once in a while, if I get sloppy with my diet, I'll experience symptoms. When it was at its worst a few years ago, I had some hair thinning, which has since grown back.
It also helped when I switched to a chemical-free shampoo with very few ingredients - I buy it in bulk from our organic food coop. If it is psoriasis, I've read where cinnamon can help to alleviate symptoms too, which works for me since I sprinkle some on my oatmeal everyday anyway. And like I said, eating a more alkaline diet (with less sugar) can make a *huge* difference, sometimes in a very short period of time.
If you do try the cinnamon, be sure to look for the harder-to-find *ceylon* variety, since the other more commonly available type (cassia) contains coumadin, which can sometimes have dangerous side effects.
Whether it's seborrhea or psoriasis, both conditions are made worse by an overgrowth of candida. So again, if it were me, I'd look at diet first.
Whatever it is, I hope it clears up soon!
About ISIS ~ I notice transiting Isis (asteroid 42) will be conjunct the US Moon during the last week of July, which means it will also feed into the Pluto-Uranus square.
ReplyDeleteTransiting Isis was also within a few degrees of our most recent New Moon in Cancer. This is one of the reasons why I appreciate the asteroids so much. They can often provide layers of meaning, sometimes relating to their names and what they mean within a particular situation, which isn't limited to their traditional interpretation.
In this case Isis' transit may relate to the mythology or maybe to some other acronym.
I've never thought of Russell Brand as having a strong accent. Maybe he just talks too quickly?
ReplyDeletemike (again) ~ lol! Good quotes from 3 people who know/knew what's what. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLB ~ Psoriasis - yes I had wondered about that, but I've never suffered from it before. I think a form of dermatitis is more likely - I inherited some skin sensitivities from both parents and one grandparent (Dad suffered from a case of what I've had at least once as I recall - though with his very short hair it was easier to clear up).
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your recommendations which I shall definitely keep in mind, including diet.
Re ISIS ~ Oh my - how topical is that?!! Vee-ery int-eresting!!
Vanilla Rose ~ He does rattle on at a rapid pace, but people here in the USA do have trouble with English accents in general even when intoned more slowly, I've found. It's surprising in some ways because accents across the pond, both ways, have become so familiar through TV and movies.
ReplyDeleteI'm often stared at blankly when I speak to someone who doesn't know me, and find I have to repeat myself....s-l-o-w-l-y. I have a fairly light Yorkshire/Northern accent I think, but nothing like the Yorkshire stereotype. :-) whereas in England people don't have the same trouble with American accents (far as I know).
I had something much worse, alopecia which resulted in two huge bald spots at the crown and near the base of the neck. It came from stress - to this day I blame my self absorbed brother-in-law, but that is probably a 4th house issue. I was afraid to wash my hair for fear of it all falling out. I thought it was a thyroid condition but the endocrinologist sent me to my dermatologist. Forty shots of cortisone did the trick and in no time I had short hair growth covering the bald and a year later, close to my naturallength. I,too, color my hair and several inches of roots were showing until I went back to the salon. I learned to ignore the brother in law and the condition never came back. BTW, needles in your scalp are much less painful than in a vein.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous ~ Hi! Thank you for your input. Your problem was, indeed, much worse than my own - it must have been very upsetting - we do feel extremely attached to our hair - literally, and metaphorically for vanity's sake. :-) I'm happy to know that you solved the issue and have been successful in keeping it from returning.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad of the information about injections, just in case my hair loss resumes, or if what I've lost already doesn't return on its own, given time. Thanks again!
LB - yes, interesting about the asteroid Isis. But, what's in a name? The acronym ISIS has been selected by the English-speaking media:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/19/world/middleeast/islamic-state-in-iraq-and-syria-or-islamic-state-in-iraq-and-the-levant.html?_r=0
The population did not refer to themselves as ISIS, but have recently begun, particularly on social media, due to the usage in the English language media.
And here's an illuminati explanation:
http://www.zengardner.com/isis-ploy-illuminati-sorcery-sacrifice/
I searched "isis isil illuminati" and this article appears all over the internet verbatim, but many different site addresses. Weird.
So, it's interesting that the asteroid's astrological placement is prevalent, but the use of the corresponding acronym is curious-interesting, too.
