In the News ~ Alex Jones, John Brennan.

From videos available online it appears that Piers Morgan allowed Alex Jones to make himself look even loopier than usual in a TV interview this week ranting about the need to retain the gun culture in the USA. See HERE for a clip or the full segment.

I don't follow Alex Jones, but occasionally come across stuff quoting him. I'm not sure exactly what to make of him, other than that his obvious ability to attract attention is well-honed! There's a kind of oblique sense to some of his beliefs - can't quite agree, can't quite disagree. I can agree with this comment by "ceti" at Common Dreams:
Alex finally got on mainstream news and he blew it by trying to fit years of conspiracy theorizing into one single rant.

But he emblemizes a lot of what's wrong with America's paranoid fringe. Because they reject anything to do with communism outright, they are left with very few tools to understand the world systematically, even if their instinct on what's wrong is genuinely pointed in the right direction.

So we have End the Fed, without understanding its role in finance capitalism, or the New World Order without US Imperialism. The focus on gun rights is also misdirected, given that not a single American assault rifle has ever toppled a domestic tyrant. Instead, American guns have brought a lot of death and destruction around the world.

In many ways, Alex and a few others on the internet serve as another system of control to disappear thoughtful people down the rabbit hole, when really, the actual conspiracies are pretty obvious and all encompassing. What allows him to flourish is the utter marginalizing of the real Left that actually does challenge the system as it is, not as it is imagined to be.
If anyone wonders about Alex Jones' astrology, he's a Sun Aquarius type, and one who I consider is letting the side down - or is it that he's really showing up the Water Bearer's true colours? (See also Sara Palin, Dick Cheney, Glenn Beck). This rogue Sun Aquarian type shows up, mainly, in the USA, doesn't it? There's a stronger dose of Aquarius's modern ruler eccentric Uranus involved in their natures.

For a detailed rundown of Alex Jones' natal chart see a piece by astrologer Francis D. Grabau at Starpath Visions.

The president nominated John Brennan to head the CIA in place of David Petraeus whose zipper problems led him astray, far enough to result in his resignation (we've been told). John Brennan looks a deal scarier than ol' Dave ever did! I've yet to see a photograph of him smiling, checked Google Image - there are a couple of forced smirky smiles, which seem the best he can manage. After preparing this post I went back to reading Les Miserables, and just by chance, on page 100 which marked the extent of my progress through the huge tome, read a description which exactly fits Mr. Brennan: "The sight of him suggested that he was continually absorbed in the contemplation of something terrible", though in the novel it refers, of course, to ex-convict Jean Valjean's appearance, early in the story.

For some background on John Brennan see Alex Kane's article 5 Terrifying Facts about John Brennan. Also Obama’s CIA Pick Stinks of Torture, Targeted Killings by Peter Z. Scheer at truthdig.com:
Rather than use his electoral victory to shove a dove down the throat of the national security establishment, President Obama seems to be sticking it to the left, by nominating the intelligence veteran to head the CIA. Brennan was prevented from becoming CIA director in Obama’s last term because the former chief of staff to Bush’s CIA director George Tenet had the stink of torture about him. Now, he is the man most credited with an assassination program that features, among other things, a secret presidential kill list.
I haven't found any astrologer's thoughts on his natal chart yet. Let's have a gander at a 12 noon version, as his birth time isn't known:

His chart is nowhere near as scary as his photograph. This chart could easily belong to a writer, painter, photographer or poet: Mercury conjunct Neptune, Sun conjunct Venus. Saturn in Scorpio sextile Mars in Virgo might be the least benign factor here, or perhaps Pluto conjunct Jupiter. If a deathly Pluto conjunct expansive Jupiter were on or close to his ascendant - that could fit.

Moon would be in Sagittarius whatever his time of birth. Sun in precise perfectionist Virgo, Moon in expansive free-rolling Sagittarius are two very different facets of his nature.

Perhaps any passing astrologically-literate reader might add their thoughts on Brennan's chart - Mike? Help!

  1. I doubt that Alex Jones anticipated his interview with Morgan to demean himself and his cause, but happily, he fell right into it.

I agree with you, Twilight, John Brennan has the planetary signature of an artistic, refined, sensitive individual. Planetary energies are dependent on the user for the outcome of the energies, whether for good or ill.

However, he does have some interesting planetary influences that would indicate trouble. Venus is the sole dispositor for all of his planets, which would give Venus over-sight signature to all planets and aspects. Venus in Libra (particularly since conjunct Sun in very late Virgo) would make it very easy for the individual to "follow orders" whatever those orders are...no decisions to be made. It would also indicate a person that can manipulate situations for an intended outcome.

Venus is typically considered benefic by modern astrologers, but historical astrology, particularly the Mayan and Toltec cultures, considered Venus to be the goddess of war. Venus is desire, Mars is action...the desire for war precedes the act of war.

He has two aspects that stand-out as significant to his credentials: Moon square Mars (impaired feeling function, strong self-will, antagonism, problems with male-female construct) and Jupiter square Saturn (strong self-will, Marc Jones calls this aspect "last chance" missed opportunities, dangerous consequences). I suspect Brennan has a closet full of skeletons and personal demons.

He has some interesting aspects influencing him over the past several years and currently. Transiting Saturn in Libra a couple of years ago conjunct his natal Venus (setting-off ALL natal planets and aspects), the Venus-Sun occultation in Gemini during the spring and summer of 2012 affecting his nodes and the natal Moon-Mars square, the eclipse patterns last two years and May 9, 2013, and particularly the current, transiting Uranus-Pluto square...his natal Venus is now being directly opposed by transiting Uranus (setting-off ALL natal planets and aspects). He'll be entering his second Saturn return December, 2013, after transiting north node conjuncts natal Saturn in March. Transiting Jupiter will directly hit his nodes and refresh the Sun-Venus occultation of 2012. Transiting Jupiter will also form a T-square with his natal Mars-Moon square. Lots of heavy transits!

I would not think his confirmation will be easy. Perhaps a few ghosts of Xmas past will haunt him, too, while a couple of skeletons in the closet dance.

Knowing how he has employed his astrological energy in the past, I don't believe that he has used his abilities in a manner that is pleasing to him. That may be the frown you discuss, Twilight. I think his Moon-Mars and Jupiter-Saturn keep him in a negative pattern. He's had a rough time the past several years and this will continue through 2013...maybe these "lessons" have introduced a change of direction for him. Bitter or better?!

  2. I think that was done deliberately of course. Can you imagine anyone worse to argue the gun case than Alex Jones?

  3. Ah, yes. Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck were born one day apart. Truly a rogue time for Aquarius. What the heck was it doing at the time?

  4. mike ~~~ Many thanks for lots of pertinent astro information there! The transiting aspects seem to better match what we know than does his basic chart.

I looked again at Wiki's page for Brennan and see that he didn't accidentally "fall" into a CIA career - it was his choice from the start "While riding a bus to class at Fordham University, he saw an ad in The New York Times that said the CIA was recruiting, and felt a CIA career would be a good match for his "wanderlust" and his desire to do public service

Wanderlust! It's in his Sagittarius Moon.....and Jupiter, Sag's ruler is conjunct Pluto planet of death.
Hmmm - going to faraway places....and killing people!
Wiki also tells that he speaks fluent Arabic.

The other thought I've had is re his personal planet conjoining Neptune and one conjoining Pluto -
both those outer planets have connections to secrecy, spying, lying, deception, which are all components in the CIA toolbox, and they are drawn tightly into his personality.

  6. James Higham ~ It could have been a deliberate ploy, I guess. But Jones could easily have counteracted it and shocked 'em by answering questions and putting his case in a calm rational manner. He's a big boy - big enough to know that Morgan's show is a vastly different kind of platform from his own daffy show.

  7. Vanilla Rose ~~ I did a post about them - lipstick and dipstick - a couple of years ago - link:

    http://twilightstarsong.blogspot.com/2010/10/aquarius-pro-con-progressive.html

I don't know Vanilla - I haven't found a completely satisfactory explanation, other than the fact that Aquarius has two rulers which reflect opposite attributes: Saturn and Uranus; and Aquarius sits right next door to Capricorn, the other Saturn-ruled sign, a difference from any other co-ruled signs which sit further apart. Not sure whether that's relevant or not though.

Inasmuch as there is such a thing as "an Aquarian" (which I'm beginning doubt), we are bound to be a peculiar lot and full of contradictions!

  8. Wisewebwoman ~~ Thanks for that, WWW - will read it with interest.
That's the first smile of his nearing natural I've seen so far! I wonder what they had to do to get that - tickle his feet? ;-)
