Chomp ~~ Yes, indeed, so very many of them, their lives cut cruelly and painfully short as a result of what grew in the mind of one man, able to hypnotise a nation (in the case of World War2 anyway).
The Great Extravagant and The Great Waster wonderful descriptions - astrologers might relate them to Jupiter and Mars within our natures. We cannot hide from them, we can only attempt to harness them.
This kind of things alway led me to think to the possibilities, the possibilities we never used or worked out or envisaged or thought of...
