Very Jupiter conjunct Uranus: flying saucer over China ? (No pun intended)
Ditto : Chupacabra - weird things in Texas. No change there then!
Piers Morgan taking over from Larry King? Say it isn't so!
Streetwise in Italy - lots different from streewise in Oklahoma!
100 mind-blowing sculptures. At around 2/3 of the way through there's one with your friendly neighbourhood blogger posing with a big red creation (shown here in miniature). Photo borrowed (I think with permission) from the husband's website. It was taken a few years ago on a visit to Oklahoma City. 15 seconds of fame, shared with a red sculpture.
Socialism in the USA (wink) They can't spell it, it sends their apostrophes awry and they don't even know what it is! From a collection of funny misspelled signs

Well as the whole wide world knows in America they have no clear idea of what socialism truly is...
ReplyDeleteSo, though extremely funny, it is of no surprise at all they misspell even its name, and not only the meaning!
"Market forces", some even call them "free market forces" are what at least non-Americans understand/envy under your type of capitalism.
ReplyDeleteSince the Robber Barons and now the Wall Street Barons, some excesses have shown the danger of such "concepts of the human mind" - be they capitalist credo or socialist.
Humans prefer to live with the shadows of their own projections. Plato well described it in his "Parable of the Cavern", more then 2000 years ago.
So no surprise that if in the effort of keeping one's own illusion (projection) alive, some mis-spelling occurs when addressing an opponent's illusion.
Sad. But the pictures are truly funny! Thanks Twilight.
PS. "One man one vote" ain't working in the people's best interest. Plato could also have said that, had he seen your pictures...
Anonymous ~~~ True enough! I've had to learn this little by little. ;-)
ReplyDeletegian paul ~~ One man one vote is pretty meaningless these days, because all names appearing on the voting paper are on the same side: the Corporatocracy. It's theatre, illusion, that's all. I've come to realise this little by little too. :-(
ReplyDeleteNothing much that ordinary folk can do about the state of affairs. We await the turning of The Wheel of Fortune - but it turns so very slowly. :-)
Nice to see them having a balanced debate there :-)
ReplyDeleteIt makes it all the more tragically comical when the word can't even be spelled. Clueless as to what the meaning is.
ReplyDeleteI keep getting images of a gun in the hand shooting at the owner's foot. Constantly.
BTW, I read some appalling news today in that Obama is looking to reverse Roe vs Wade?
Say it ain't so?

anthonynorth ~~~ hmmm... they probably think balanced debate is something to do with fishing.
ReplyDelete;-)
Yes, it's tragi-comedy alright.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I've seen lately re Obama and Roe v Wade is that he wants the restriction relating to mental distress tightened to include only seriously ill women, not those who are seriously depressed or, as he put it "a bit blue" Tch tch!!! He surely wouldn't go further than that unless he wants to lose even more support from his base. Maybe he wants out though. ;-)
The fallen standards of education in America are making themselves known (though I doubt the situation is any better in Britain right now).
ReplyDeleteLoved the sculptures. Scratched my head a bit, thinking, "I'm sure I know the woman under that red thingy."
RJ Adams ~~~ Agreed - Britain's education system used to be excellent I think - in my day anyway. I'd not be surprised if it has gone the way of all flesh though.
ReplyDelete:-)
I had stood under that sculpture simply because I was wearing a red shirt at the time and do like to have matching accessories. ;-)
