Idols ~ Lennon-McCartney ~ Zodiac

Tonight the last 9 American Idol contestants standing are to choose songs from the Lennon-McCartney songbook and present their interpretations. With such variety there just has to be something for everybody within that songbook.

I thought it'd be fun to consider the contestants' Sun signs and pick a Lennon/McCartney title to match. These are highly unlikely to be the contestants' actual choices, I hasten to add. There are no remaining contestants with Sun in Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio or Aquarius by the way.

Aries: Lee DeWyse and Aaron Kelly ~ Helter Skelter (Aries always in a rush)...and Why Don't We do It In the Road? (Aries always impulsive!)

Taurus: Tim Urban ~ Norwegian Wood (Taurus>Earth sign>wood)

Gemini: Michael Lynche: ~ Paperback Writer (Easy!)

Leo: Crystal Bowersox: ~ Her Majesty (Leo = Royal) but it's very short, so... Good Day Sunshine (Leo ruled by the Sun.)

Libra: Andrew Garcia ~ Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da (Balance- see?)

Sagittarius: Katie Stevens ~ Ticket to Ride (Sagittarius loves travel!)

Capricorn: Casey James ~ Long & Winding Road (Capricorn's an Earth sign>road = earthy.) But really, I just want to hear him sing it!

Pisces: Siobhan Magnus ~ Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (A bit trippy, as is Pisces).

  1. What were their actual song choices T and were they appropriate in anyway to their sign?

  2. Rossa ~~~ Let's see if I can remember!

The two Aries Suns - Aaron and Lee:
Aaron - Long and Winding Road
    Lee - Hey Jude

Taurus - Tim: All My loving

    Gemini- Mike: Elenor Rigby

    Leo - Crystal: Come Together

Libra - Andrew: Can't Buy Me Love

Sagittarius - Katie: Let It Be

    Capricorn - Casey: Jealous Guy

Pisces - Siobhan: Across the Universe

LOL! Well the two signs ruled by Venus both chose songs about LOVE.

The Satittarius Sun chose a rather philosophical sounding song.

The Pisces Sun chose a very nice mystical-sounding song.

    That's the best I can do. ;-)

We enjoyed the show - nobody gave a really bad performance, and it was so good to see these young artists obviously enjoying singing these songs, from a different generation. Good stuff doesn't date!
