A couple more drive-bys coming up. Birth data is at Wikipedia. I'm not posting the data or charts yet. I thought it over and decided it's a bit unfair to display full personal detail at this stage. So, just a few items of note from the charts for the astrologically inclined passing reader.
Jorge Nunez from Puerto Rico was chosen by the judges as a "Wild Card" pick for the last 13 (an oversized last 12!) He gave a very good rendition of Elton's "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me" last week. This week their task was to sing a Michael Jackson song; he struggled a bit to please the judges. I suspect he's a sweet guy, from the brief interviews I've seen. Natal Sun and Venus in Libra - why wouldn't he be?
Venus, planet of the arts, is at home and very comfortable in Libra. Pluto conjunct Mercury in Scorpio (Pluto's home sign)emphasises his passionate attitudes, clearly seen in his singing style.
Uranus lies very close to Saturn in Sagittarius - a blend of "The Old and The New" here. In transit currently these two planets are opposing one another, but in Jorge's chart their characteristics are blended. He is probably equally at home singing old standards or more current material - very beneficial in this competition. He'll appeal to all age groups within an audience.
If Jorge was born before 10pm his Moon would lie in serious, business-savvy Capricorn, if born later it would have moved into the earliest degrees of mentally oriented Aquarius. Either would be helpful in the context of Idol.
I'd love to see Jorge go into the final rounds, but there's some stiff competition. Transiting Saturn will be visiting his Mars in Virgo in September. This could possibly be a sign of extra work for him and the need for efforts over and above the norm - whether he wins Idol, or not.
I mentioned Lil, in passing in my last Idol post, but didn't have her birth data.
It has now appeared on Wikipedia.
This gal has a great voice, loads of confidence, sassy style, and can appeal to all age groups. Her performances have been consistently good - she's a performer who can, literally, sing anything.
Lil has a heavy blend of Scorpio, Sagittarius and Capricorn in her chart. A blend of passion, good humour and common sense is reflected by that 3-sign cluster of planets. Moon and (probably) ascendant bring in two other signs. Moon in either Leo (if born after 7am) or Cancer if born earlier. Leo seems to fit well, there is no doubt that she feels completely at home on that stage! Her rising sign remains unknown in the absence of birth time.
The outer or slower moving planets are closely involved with Lil's personal planets: Neptune and Venus are conjoined, though on the cusp of two signs; Mercury and Uranus very close together in Sagittarius; and Sun and Saturn in Scorpio. I'm not sure whether astrologers would attach a lot of importance to this, but to me it seems like a strengthening factor. Uranus conjunct Mercury is going to keep her style current, Neptune with Venus will stoke up her creativity, and Saturn close to the Sun will keep her feet firmly on the ground.
I'm confident that Lil will be in the final round - one of the last 3 at the very least.
Adam Lambert (see here) is still the one to beat though - after seeing him sing last night, I'm sure of it. He still has benign Jupiter transiting his Aquarius Sun sign - that won't hurt!

You're certainly getting into this show. The few of this type I DO watch are, admittedly, infectious.
ReplyDeleteYes - well, there's little enough on American TV that I care to watch, so I make the most of enjoying this each season. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm going a bit off topic here, but you might want to revisit The New Superbeings.
ReplyDeleteYou made a comment about astrology at comment #5 which has rattled a sceptic somewhat. Comments #32 to #35 are a classic case of closed mindedness leading sceptics into error. You may also want to reply, but that's up to you, of course.
Thank you for alerting me to that AN!
ReplyDeleteI've been over and responded as politely as I could. Didn't want to start a cyber fist fight on your lovely blog! ;-)
I thought I'd better let you know, and i think you responded marvellously - although I'm getting used to dealing with near fist fights on some of my posts :-)
ReplyDeleteAN ~~~ The odd skirmish will keep us on our toes, I guess. You are blogging on topics where it can get fairly feverish at times. So am I, but I'm hidden away here, the skeptics seldom vernture this far into the dens of iniquity (as they see it). :-)
ReplyDeleteLOL! I'm not logged in to my blog so have to do the word verification thing - it's
"randishn" - I swear James Randi has spies!! :-D
You never know, Randi may be using remote viewing and he's about to come out :-)
ReplyDeleteMy word verification is: parlybra.
I'm saying nothing ...
Tee-heee. Me neither.
ReplyDeleteErm - I bet Randi would rather come out as gay than say he's into remote viewing. :-)
I recently came accross your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I dont know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
