That applies to all religions (when taken to extremes) - and no end to the wars that plague those areas and make the lives of ordinary people there a hell on earth.
Twilighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14138621610593773784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16659850.post-64989684948640343892014-09-09T17:28:29.168-05:002014-09-09T17:28:29.168-05:00James Higham ~ Truly, truly!James Higham ~ Truly, truly!Twilighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14138621610593773784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16659850.post-58787875992916235832014-09-09T15:57:07.864-05:002014-09-09T15:57:07.864-05:00What began as religious differences many centuries...What began as religious differences many centuries ago (some echo of which definitely remains), has morphed into a striving of the West to take total control of middle-eastern oil. When oil eventually runs out, or when the world becomes largely uninhabitable through climate change - whichever comes first - then a certain peace might descend upon this war-torn planet. What a sad reflection this has to be on our much lauded human, so-called, "intelligence".

Worrying time we're in.James Highamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14525082702330365464noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16659850.post-80159354289688937082014-09-09T15:12:54.652-05:002014-09-09T15:12:54.652-05:00mike ~ I've adjusted my post title for a littl...mike ~ I've adjusted my post title for a little more accuracy. Thanks.

I'll not argue about the date - I took Gian Paul's word for what he'd written. The internet gives people false courage to air their darkest thoughts, and become way more dramatic and passionate than they'd be in real life, face to face. The net has benefits, many of 'em, but it has a dark side too.Twilighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14138621610593773784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16659850.post-85422426353102121252014-09-09T08:10:17.992-05:002014-09-09T08:10:17.992-05:00It's unfortunate that our foreign policy -- bo...It's unfortunate that our foreign policy -- both present and past, and promoted and supported by both major parties -- continually gets entangled within such a morass of differing cultural and religious values. It seems, as you alluded, that as long as our reliance on oil from this region continues, this dependency will only serve to fuel not only our unquenchable thirst for additional unsustainable sources of energy, but also to throw gasoline on an already blazing inferno of mistrust and increasing hate for not only the U.S., but also the west as a whole.

It can only move toward a "non-zero-sum game" of horrific proportions, which will ultimately prove disastrous for the whole planet.

I've maintained several times on another blog I frequent, that I wish Jefferson's and Madison's desire for the inclusion of "no standing armies" in the U.S. Constitution would have become reality. I can only believe that the U.S. policy of permanent war would then have at least been stalled, if not thwarted, and the probable outcomes denied.Jefferson's Guardianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16950868026721859555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16659850.post-38911675334616473342014-09-09T07:45:54.081-05:002014-09-09T07:45:54.081-05:00Religion and Money. One or both will be what brings this planet and everything on it to its end.

I've stopped reading political posts as the comments are more than I can tolerate. TOO many blabbling the same phrase over and over- "Just Blow THEM off the planet" iraq, iran and all the eastern countries they mean.:-(
If that's the solution the majority believe will work, then we are all lost.
Most of the babbling above is done by right wing conservatives-- you know, the ones who deny women health care cause every life is soooooooooooooooooo
precious to them. Can they hear themselves? talk about 2 sides of a bad penny.
So now I'll say something ugly lol.
I think every man of any nationality who abuses women and children should be blown off the planet~!
that will be the time when War has any chance of ending.Sonny Ghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06926830309207639536noreply@blogger.com
