I wasn't aware of any of his works except movie: "Love in the Time of Cholera", I can't recall much of it - saw the film a long time ago, will look out for a DVD to re-watch.
Twilighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14138621610593773784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16659850.post-18407080681583661092014-04-17T19:31:07.163-05:002014-04-17T19:31:07.163-05:00Another April bummer: we just lost Gabriel Garcia ...Another April bummer: we just lost Gabriel Garcia Marquez (3-6-1927 - 4-17-2014)

“Wisdom comes to us when it can no longer do any good.” From Love In The Time Of Cholera

"Freedom is often the first casualty of war." Coincidence no doubt, but it's something that stood out for me. Not that tragedies don't happen at other times - obviously, they do - I looked on this phenomenon (or non-phenomenon if you like) as a kind of sad quinky-dink.
Twilighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14138621610593773784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16659850.post-20073037492734983492014-04-17T13:28:38.339-05:002014-04-17T13:28:38.339-05:00I made it thru March.. I try to be positive cause I sure don't want to manifest any negative and have those vibes float back to me. so, in mid feb I start chanting positive affirmations morning noon and night. I write them on my pillow case so if subliminal learning is true- my mind can absorb while I sleep..
I am so sorry for all the trauma April is causing in folks lives..
Sonny Ghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06926830309207639536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16659850.post-50229215229185127202014-04-17T11:29:47.652-05:002014-04-17T11:29:47.652-05:00Interesting topic, Twilight...I suppose it may dep...Interesting topic, Twilight...I suppose it may depend on the semantics of "cruelest". I'm doubtful that there is any particular month for many "cruelest" activities, but apparently some months do statistically hold significance for some form of deviant folly. A quick search offered some conflicting information, but most agree for:

Months of most suicides in the USA are July and August on Wednesdays

Month of most deaths is January

Month of most divorces is January

And this list of "The Most Deadly 100 Natural Disasters" seems to indicate the summer months as tumultuous:
http://www.disastercenter.com/disaster/TOP100K.html

April may suffer from generalized and maligned prejudice...LOL.mikenoreply@blogger.com
